As the realm is plunged into turmoil, and many of our allies are engaged in warfare,

The Lion’s Pride feels it prudent that once more we make known our refutation of the concept of Descendant warfare, and doubly so, our willingness to participate in it unless directly threatened. The Order of the Golden Lion, and all Embered under our Lord of Sunlight, are held by sacred oath to never raise our blades in service of mortal realms in war against another kingdom, and indeed, never to engage in the act of descendant warfare at all - for it is a curse and machination of Ruin, woven into the fabric of the first sins, to act with the division of mortal man in mind. Our attention is drawn to the myriad threats which plague our realm at present, such as the undead armadas of vinland waters, or the dragonkin which roam the skies and slaughter with reckless abandon. So it has been decreed both under the Creed of the Patron, and the Creed of the Realms, that the Lion’s servants are not to indulge in the following acts - this proclamation having held true since the times of Vailor, centuries ago.

Spoiler

iii. It is not the concerns of mortal wars which draws the Lion’s gaze, for always there is war amongst the Descendants for struggle is eternal, a curse of the Betrayer which cannot be given relief, a result of the first sins. So it is that mortal wars are not touched upon by the Lion’s Pride, for they are meant to be absolved by the descendants by whom they are waged.

iii. Though no alliance of military might can be made with any one realm, for it is all Descendants whom the Order defend, offers of assistance can and shall be made. For it need not be said but shall be, that the Order stand vigilant against any who threaten the Descendants truthfully, in manners such as those made clear in the Creed of the Patron. And so it stands, with need for neither ink nor writ nor parchment nor oath, that always the realms and those who govern them may request the Order’s presence in matters which are their concern, with no payment either material or immaterial expected nor needed. Though it shall also be said that those lands which offer shelter and necessities to the Order in times of need shall be given the utmost gratitude of the Order and have the blessing of Xan.

Furthermore, the realm of Elysium has been aggressed by the children of Krug - a self-proclaimed ‘Xannic Nation.’ We decry this claim, for the very existence of such a thing is an oxymoron, paradoxical in nature; for indeed, it is against our oaths to establish or hold crown and kingdom, for such would only put us at odds with our fellow descendants. The Servants of Xan, be they true to their oaths, will not rally our banners in the defense of an oathbreaker crown, unless we ourselves are to be aggressed within our sacred halls, or upon the battlefield in the crusades we wage. To do otherwise would be a grave, and blatant, violation of our covenant with the Lord of Sunlight.

We are held to the defense of the realm at large - but we refute the sin of Warfare.

"Word travels fast, as does a crossbow bolt. Don't lose your ember over a conflict of territory."

An old once-embered man muttered.

Alona reads the missive and just pockets it to show Freyr. "A pity indeed- even after that one meeting." The elfess raises an eyebrow as she ponders many thoughts.

Once more does a woman receive her bird upon her arm, its talon's gripping into the leather and metal she had donned. Pulling back the hood from her face ever so slightly, her viridescent gaze trails over the ink of the missive, squinting as the desert sun reflected off the pale paper. "A nation which holds Xannic ideals is different from a Xannic Nation, perhaps that should be more clear." Her hand pulls a small piece of jerky from the satchel at her side, offering it to the falcon that was preening at the fabric of her cloak, a soft sigh escaping her lips. "I could have sworn there was a long discussion regarding the fact that the Paladins that find themselves with homes and families in Elysium had stressed they would not raise blade unless they themselves were brought to harm or there was evidence of dark forces meddling... For all the words spoken and written, rarely do they seem to be acknowledged." Gloved hands took up charcoal, neat scrawl being marked across the back of the page in hand. "Slander befalls those who are quiet, but responses of defense only seem to cause more defamation to spread. Let us hope our actions will speak louder, as we focus on the terrors of the sea and the dragons that wreak havoc and harm. They will find their cries of oaths and alleged disregard were falsely placed, and the reflection of such will fall to them." Leather ties bound the rolled missive upon the avian's leg, before being set to flight, the woman now turning to continue her search for resources and herbs amongst the golden sands of the south, muttering prayers of safety for fates in which she could no longer interfere.
