What are the true duties of a member of the cloth? The obvious parts of being a member of the cloth would surround holding mass, taking confession, host marriages, and to preach the words of GOD and the Exalted. We are to not raise our hands nor blades against the faithful, yet we have seen multiple members of the cloth on the battlefield. Where do the line cross from what is the defense of the faithful and one self and that of partaking as a warrior?

If we look back in history a prime example of a member of our cloth who did not raise his hands against another, even when his life was at risk of being lost we shall look no further than to the late High Pontiff Jude II. Even in facing death he did not raise his hands against his attackers, rather he begged them to spare the others that were at risk of harm. A man who earlier in his life was known as Manfried Cardinal St. Julia who were attacked multiple times, one of which resulted in him losing his arm. Still he showed no anger towards this. He spent his life walking the city’s of Canonum mostly without guards surrounding him, only bringing Holy Knights with him to meetings where he would be outside a Canonist state. This shows an example we should live by, not only as members of the cloth, but as Canonists.

Another part of our duties surround the guidance of our noble flock, we are to be those who guide them not only in grief but in their daily life, to work as a tool between GOD and his people. To guide them not for our own gain to be a result of their choices, but to ensure their own salvation with GOD when their times come to stand before his judgment. We are not the judge, rather we are the defense of the defendant.

In earlier Pontificates we have seen a Church that has been politically involved in the world, while these days we once more see an institution that is more neutral, rather trying to mend the peace of the Canonist Princes and nations. A Church that has banned its members for partaking in war in difference to its successor.

The Pontifical Office, focusing on the well being of the noble flock, tries to ensure that each town where Canonists may live shall have a diocese to belong to. A priest who may guide them.

As a summary, the Church in itself is following a better path, one that seeks peace between the Canonist Princes. A world where each member of the Canonist faith may be shown salvation. But we still have a far way to walk before we finally fulfill the duties of the cloth to the fullest.
