Addition - Keeper’s Judgement

Introduction

In the following years, as Xan’s eye became more dismissive over his people, there has been a clear rise of tenet breaking of the orders — be it of avarice, lust, or even pride; the most damning of all sins. To counteract this, as the Sliverblade has blessed and granted boons to the Paladins, they’ve found themselves capable of a ritual of the utmost severity, only to be used in dire times due to its price and cost.

- This can be learned by a T5 Paladin at the permanent cost of a magic-slot.

Keeper’s Judgement

[Freeform]

[Non-Combative]

Seen as dangerous as a severe solution to a problem, Keeper’s Judgement is reserved only for the most heinous creed-breakers — it is an unbending and rigid ritual, for it both injuries and damages both sides, and should it be false, then the one who enacted it is to be damned.

Mechanics:

The Paladin may find themselves at a chancery of a place of worship, and to begin the ritual they must cut their wrists to allow their blood to drop onto the floor, using it as a conduit for the Chancery.

Another Paladin must then use the blood to paint onto the floor the creed breakers, alongside the creeds that they have broken.

The third, or more, Paladin(s) then uses their mists to fuel the runes with deific strength; this can be done with a maximum of (5) Paladins as each Paladin brings the participants, and the creedbreaker down a tier — maxing out at T0 where everyone, taking part, are not able to conjure forth a spell.

- The Ritual requires a minimum of (3) Paladins to proceed.

- With each conjurer used, the tiers are knocked down for every participant and the specific Paladin. Etc, (2) conjurers bring the associated people down to T3.

- The Tiers return as the Accused comes to be judged, or after (3) OOC weeks.

For the target, however — they are constantly plagued with dreams of the call, and are ushered to the Chancery for their Judgement. Should this be ignored for (3) OOC weeks, they would temporarily lose the ability to call forth Xannic Mists, and the spells associated with it. They can, however, be reignited by (3) Paladins to what Tier they were before at the cost of a magic-slot.

- Due to differing timezones and schedules, it is recommended that the parties discuss a suitable time to proceed with the ritual.

As the ritual proceeds, it is not considered a Chaos-DC, and rather follows the strict and rigid laws of the Creeds that the Paladins are based on. During this state, there are three distinct ways to go about the trial.

Trial by Combat

Following the possible verdict where they are seen as guilty, the Paladin may chose to decide their punishment via combat against the accuser or a champion of the accuser, whom is a Paladin. Should they be defeated, then the accused is subject to the verdicts of the accuser, or their champion, either being DC'd or made to redeem themselves via other means.

- This is purely a 1v1, where anyone else is unable to take part -- those who do are pushed out of the area. Magical enchantments cannot be used, and the mists manifest to grant them a weapon of their choice instead; limited to melee or armaments, nothing larger than that.

Trial by Atonement

Following the possible verdict where they are trialed, the Paladin may chose to decide their punishment via atonement by admitting they are guilty and undergoing penance. The trials are decided by the accuser, and must be completed while during this time, they are locked to T1 of their MA -- listed and stated on their MA while a distinct, golden tattoo is etched onto their body, unable to dim.

- There can be as many trials as wished, though they must not be impossible; etc. count all grains of sand.

- The trials should be communicated by the two parties OOCly to encourage a fun and enjoyable experience.

Trial by Law

Following the possible verdict where they are trialed, the Paladin is subject to the original creeds of Xan. Should they have broken a creed, they are DC'd from their Magick.

- Order-Specific creeds do not count as sufficient creed-breaking, Xan’s original creeds are the only usable rules.

Should the Ritual go wrong, and it is discovered that the creed breaker is innocent, the participants alongside the leaders lose their MA, along with (1) magic-slot permanently, and are scarred with burns upon their body — that are difficult to hide — for their heinous act.

- Evidence is required for the Ritual to proceed, and the person MUST be breaking creeds; etc, associating with Darkspawn, plotting against other Paladins (If they’re not Creedbreakers) or even working against the Descendants within a role of a Kingdom.

- If the Ritual is successful, and judgement is enacted, the Creed-Breaker is stripped of their MA and unable to have another Xannic Connection, for the light has abandoned them.

- If it is unsuccessful, then the Ritual-Participants lose their MA, along with a permanent magic-slot. Furthermore, they are weakened for (1) OOC week and are unable to call forth the mists for (2) OOC weeks as they recover.
