OwOrc 354 Share Posted June 28, 2022 THE PASSING OF THE TORCH. The house Sigvardson has faced a grievous wound, one which will be forever etched in the hearts of not only it's members but the residents that rely on it. The Lord Ragnar Sigvardson was killed, struck down in his prime by an unknown attacker, though one which was soon dispelled. This act of blatant murder was felt throughout the entirety of Norland, whether it was a feeling of shock, of sadness, anger or, for some, relief. Though if there was one fault of Ragnar, it would be his failure to sire offspring. Ragnar was a good man, a proud man. A man who led Bjornfjall through good times and through harsh times. A man who served faithfully as Marshal of Norland, a loving brother and a guiding light for many under him. But Ragnar is gone, a light snuffed out. And with his passing, due to his lack of children the Lordship of Bjornfjall was left without direct leadership. This was until the Lord's brother, Sigmund Sigvardson, returned upon the news of his passing. Sigmund was a man who never wanted to rule, never wanted to hold responsibility over the lives of others, but a man who knew his duty. He knew he was the only suitable heir. And for that reason, he took a decision. He would grip the torch left by Ragnar, and would carry it. For better or for worse. To greatness or to ruin. Sigmund knew his duty, one of living up to the repute of not only his brother, but his ancestors, their ancestors and ultimately all of Norland. But only time will tell if he is capable of the task which fate had given him.
