SECTION V For many years since the retirement of the previous Metropolitan of Providentia, Father Melquíades, We have been searching for a clergyman who We deem fit to take the mantle which he has left. Finally, in Our search, We have found a man who We believe will serve the people of Vienne well through his newfound duties. Thus, it is through Our Apostolic Right, bestowed unto Us through the Laurel derived from the Exalted that We do confirm the assignment of Father James of Vienne to the Metropolitanate of Providentia, to act as Provisional Cardinal of the area. Through this assignment, We elevate him to the College of Cardinals, however, due to the condition of Father James’ ascension from a simple Priest to a Cardinal, We do this with the intention of closely watching the new Cardinal’s actions from here on, to judge whether this assignment may stand. We wish the best for the new Cardinal, and may GOD bless the people of Vienne as they welcome their new shepherd. SECTION VI The art of alchemy is a sensitive one, for it can be used for evil as much as it may be used for good. However, one must be able to trust those who preach GOD’s word, and so, We declare the following: The Church of the Canon officially endorses the art of alchemy among the clergy, on the condition that they only use the accepted section of alchemy, transfiguration. Those who seek to learn this knowledge and use it for the benefit of GOD’s flock are directed towards Saint Felder’s Rock, within the Kingdom of Oren, where Lector Trevor and other members of the Lectorate are willing to accept students within the clergy, as We Ourself were accepted. Those who accept such an invitation are warned, however. This art is to be used in a pure manner, to benefit the flock without personal gain or profit for those who wield the knowledge of alchemy, and they are also expected to pass this knowledge on to future members of the clergy. Any who wish to use this art for profit must be given explicit permission by the High Pontiff and must do so in moderation, and a portion of profits must be donated to the treasury of the Church of the Canon. Any who are caught abusing the art of alchemy, using it for profit without permission, abusing the permission of the High Pontiff to profit from the art, or failing to donate the correct portion of profits, will face potential defrocking, and also potential excommunication, depending on the severity of the abuse of the art. SECTION VIII It is through Our Apostolic Right, bestowed unto Us through the Laurel derived from the Exalted that We affirm the following beatification: Blessed Johann Barclay, Duke of Reinmar Born in his familial land of Reinmar, south of Karosgrad, Blessed Johann Barclay’s life was never an easy one. From an early age, he took the position of Duke of Reinmar following the untimely death of his father, though through his virtuous diligence from a young age, served as Duke of Reinmar and Lord Marshal of the Brotherhood of Saint Karl for over 40 and 30 years respectively. Miracle: During the Sinner’s War, whilst helping his subjects with a broken fence, Johann Barclay was caught out in the fields of Reinmar by two Heartlander bandits. Armed only with a nearly broken axe, the Duke was almost captured by the duo, before the axe was mysteriously renewed to a perfect state mid fight. Now possessing a sufficient weapon, Blessed Johann drove the bandits away, protecting not only himself but also his faithful subjects.
