Aestenia Aevaris remained quiet after all the festivities. She would miss Friedrich, much like she misses all the rest, but this one stings just a little more. She sips from the soup flask and maintains her silence for now.

Wilheim Barclay returned to the roof later that night, watering can in hand, before spotting his deceased ancestor resting beside his cherished roses. He'd take a moment to say goodbye to his great-great-grandfather, before solemnly calling for one of the houseguards to assist in bringing him to the crypts.

In the skies, as usual for those who knew the man, a carrion was thrown at his head by the cackling Fionn"Drink up, old ****!" he called to his old boss before doing so himself.

Spoiler

Luisa Klaire Barclay pulled herself from the endless fields of red Reinmaren Roses that littered the expanses of the Seven Skies, a smile present on her sun warmed face. It was the end of an era for her family, that much was heralded by the arrival of her nephew. She does not speak as she took him into arm, for now resting her head to his. "You took your time, Bärchen, and Ich am glad you did. Your legacy will speak volumes of you long after they've forgotten your face and your name." For once, the old woman laughed, clapping her nephew on the back. He had been her son as much as her nephew, with how much of his youth she had partaken in.

"Now- Come. There ist a drink and a meal waiting for you at our table, it ist gutt to have you home."

As Ellisar arrived home he was told the news by his wife Aestenia. He grumbled as he sat down, memories of Friedrich flooding back to him. It was Friedrich who had given him a second military career, it was Friedrich who had led Ellisar and his comrades in arms through so many battles. When his family had been forced from their home, it was Friedrich who had welcomed them to Haense. There were only a few commanders Ellisar would've followed into any situation, and Lord Marshal Friedrich Barclay was one. He sat in that chair for the rest of the evening, remembering his friend.

Memories of the frozen tundra and many fights against tough odds, which were often followed by copious drinking at the tavern. Haense had been a wild time for Glynfir. The first time he had truly resided outside of Haelun'or. Above all of these memories, one stood out. A debt that could never be repaid, not that there had been a chance to do so. Friedrich had sheltered them and sworn that they would always be protected. Though Glynfir had not always felt that he was truly considered Haenseni, Friedrich had always made him feel that he was indeed.
