Order of Overseers

After a great congregation of workers discussed the matters of the fortress, the Rhun Prophet went to the meeting hall within da Khron'Hundmar and nailed a missive into the stone wall. Shortly there after, golems would be sighted venturing around Almaris spreading word and copies of the industry of the north.

ORDER OF OVERSEERS

Company of the Iron Hills

ᚡᛖᛚᛖᚱᚨᚴ ᛖᚱᛟᚾ ᛞᚨ ᛏᛁᚱᚨᚴᚱᚢᛗᛗ

Beneath the snow and stone of the Iron Hills the first halls have been shaped into the rock, our fortress begun. There cannot however be any respite, for the long arduous quest of crafting a new culture bound by the principles of Rhun and Brathmordakin has hardly begun. If we wish to survive the terrors of the North and horrors of the deep we must prepare with urgency, for the light of civilization and balance that burns within our hearth shall stand to challenge Khorvad and summon his ire.

With so much weight to bear on the embark, politics was forsaken. Our society exists absolutely to the purpose of its goal, and what structure we have shall reflect such. To be a resident of the fortress shall be to take on an oath to the Rhun so long as they are a habitant; to glorify the craftsdwarfship of Yemekar, honor the Rhun and defend the hold. All otherwise folk in the hold who are not resident are to be considered visitors, be they foreign merchants, traveling allies or migrant workers.

We have no king nor senate, only the Lord Overseer Darek Irongrinder who shall supervise the many other teachers and leaders of the fortress, and the Rhun Prophet Norli Starbreaker guiding the obligations to Khaz’A’Dentrumm and ensuring that the activities of the fortress are done in accordance with the traditions of the Rhun. Beyond such, there shall be a rank of Overseer for all teachers and managers of the many projects and tasks.

Memorial

Grimdal Irongut, Ossic Frostbeard and Melrik Deephook gave their lives during the settling year of the fortress. These founders will not be forgotten, and will have memorials erected in their honor within the caverns beneath the Iron Hills, commemorating their story. Under the supervision of the Rhun Prophet, Ursus Grandaxe will be leading this effort. May Dungrimm guide their souls.

The Tavern

A central institution of any dwarf fortress, the tavern is held with great reverence. Currently run by Thalgrim Goldhand, the tavern is accepting more barkeeps and brewers who will be held in high esteem throughout the fortress for their work.

The Trade Depot

With the fortress underground and so far in the north, there are many goods which are not efficient to be produced but better to be imported. Besides this, there are many refined products of other cultures which the dwarves cannot produce but would be wise to incorporate into their crafts. Torsun Goldhand shall be Overseer of trade, and charged with running the depot outside the gates and organizing caravans both to and from da Khron’Hundmar. Thalgrim Goldhand shall be assisting in trade, overseeing commissions from beyond the fort.

Duty to Hearth and Home

A hearth left exposed to cold winds will extinguish, it requires defense. Such is the case for our fortress, whose spirit will extinguish if we are not willing to defend it. All citizenry of da Khron’Hundmar are called into its militia, to be trained for the defense against enemies both mortal and what forgotten beasts lay within the caverns below. Leading the training and command of the militia is Commander Svardin Grandaxe, supported by Quartermaster Ulfric Frostbeard who shall oversee the armory and keep every citizen armed at all times.

The Black Anvil

With the primary purpose of glorifying Yemekar and becoming an industrial hub, the craftsmanship of da Khron’Hundmar is before all else and foundational to its other projects. Tools must be made for the constant work, crafts made to be traded with, commissions and parts for greater constructs. Norli Starbreaker, Nara Starbreaker, and Darek Irongrinder are chief blacksmiths to teach others and organize group crafts.

Strike the Earth

Integral to the fortress are its mining operations, not only for the development of our halls but the harvesting of ores. Metals shallow and deep must be obtained, and a near constant digging effort will be established to ensure this. Fulgrad Mineplenty, and Thor’nir Frostbeard are Overseers for this endeavor, and are to be contacted for training in the mines. For masonry and stonework specifically, Darek Irongrinder and Norli Starbreaker are to be consulted.

Alchemical Stockpile

The alchemical arts are essential in both enhancing and creating avenues of creation for the dwarves of Khron’Hundmar. For now the basics of alchemy will sustain us in these harsh wilds we’ve chosen for our exodus. In time, we shall move past mere survival and forward into the light of a new era; one in which the stink of stagnation will never take root in our halls of stone. Leading alchemical efforts are Rylanor Goldhand, Meylis Frostbeard and Xob Wobson, alchemical apprentices should seek them out to help in projects and learn new brews, as well anyone who wishes to help or learn more.

The Golden Enchantery

The Arcane arts are an important tool to furthering our arsenal against the abominations of Khorvad. Leading our research in the Arcane is Overseer Falk Irongut, master of the Golden Enchantery. Practitioners in the Arcane Arts are encouraged to meet with him, as well as aspiring students.

Guild Halls

The primary construction projects in our fledgling hold is to carve out guild halls from where we can run the operations of the fortress, as well adjacent homes for workers who take part in the projects. Currently the miners’ hall has been carved out and engraved, though yet to be furnished. In this lackluster state, many materials have gone missing from the storage of Mineplenties, with a bounty placed to recover them. Opposite the miners’ hall is the craftsdwarves hall, where the space has been carved out fully though engraving is in process. In the digging, an aquifer was struck which shall be used to supply a fountain for clean water.

Temple of Ogradhad

With the return of our collection at the demands of the Grand Kingdom, the dwarves of Khron’Hundmar are left with no books, nor shelves to store them. The construction of a hall of Ogradhad to store historical relics, engravings and most importantly a new collection is the first amenity to be made for the fortress. These writings should be collected from our many neighboring scholarly institutes in cooperation, with the purpose of creating a repertoire to use to create new writings that account for the Rhun and teachings of Brathmordakin; a cultural lense to teach beardlings of the wider world. Currently Cornrow Mineplenty is leading this endeavor, though more scholars will be of great assistance.

"The peice on alchemy looks decent. Doesn't seem to quite fit with the rest of the document as well as I'd hoped" Meylis says looking at the completed section on alchemy. "And I'm not sure how much teaching we'll accomplish until we have a decent lab, but it would be good to see who comes seeking knowledge and to begin weeding them out!"

TORSUN turned away from the nailed missive muttering insensitive slurs to those around him about the Starbreaker folk.
"Did Norli seriously misspell my name!? What a bastard!"

Ulfric would give a curt nod as he glanced to the stockpile of iron he had, and then to the forge not far from him.

"Toime teh get teh work whoilst Svardin es gone..." He'd go to say, as he brought the flames to life.

Laurelai Holly scanned over the bulletin carefully while holding her flickering torch up to read the text. "I could be of use as a medic" She said with a sweet smiled before looking back at Norli and her mentor at her side whom conversed well.

A being of peace and self-awareness would wander those halls. Four hooves didn't make a sound as they guided the entity through the air. It looked around, spreading a melancholic feeling of warmth and calm as their kin slept.

Dwonki would wake up, having had a good nights rest, singing his morning-song. He would wash his face, drink his ale and lift up his tools. "Anuutah deey 'o wurk, rom pom pom!" he let out as he headed for the mines. "WAN GOING DOON!" he bellowed as the mechanism transported him to the deep dark below...
