The Start of a Regency

Dear Citizens,

 

As the crown has been passed down to the next generation, Prince Robert ( @Blake0205 ) , the rightful heir decided to step down and give the throne to his younger brother, Frederick II ( @outcook ) , due to his disability.

Since the new Sovereign Prince is still too young to rule, it has been decided his uncle, Prince Peter, will take the mantle of Lord Regent until the Sovereign Prince reaches adulthood and is ready to rule.

We are looking forward to Sedan’s future under the rule of Fredrick II, and hope our citizens and allies will as well.

Matilda de Joannes couldn't help but weep as she read over the missive announcing her youngest brother's claim to their family throne, anxiously pacing around the palace with glassy eyes. The young Princess shook her head, refusing to believe the paper's contents, struggling to piece together a world now without her father. It was not long before the girl dropped the missive, pivoting on her heel as she scurried off to find her Uncle Louis for confirmation on the matter.

Louis de Joannes, short-lived Knight Commander of Sedan, made sure to console his Niece when she approached him. Though his mental health had taken an extreme toll - the death of his Father, the quietness of Sedan, the disappearance of Joseph, all of it - he knew that now was the time to comfort his family during these tumultuous times. "It's alright Matilda. Your Uncle Peter will watch over your little Brother, and I will do my best as well. You should go see your Mother."

 

Later, he would go off to find his beloved Olenna to speak to her about the events that had transpired to get her thoughts on the matter. @tadabug2000

Olenna de Joannes offered a quiet smile, one meant for comfort as Louis came to her in his time of strife. She'd grasp his hand gently, offering ushered words of assurance before settling a kiss against his cheek. "Oh, my sweet Louis.."
