As he was preparing for a state dinner with the Haeseni, Leon Barclay, stops, reads over the missive, and, upon hearing of possibly even more war, lets out a loud "FUUUUU-" thus shaking the walls of the castle.

Emil Caius, reads such missive from his room within Rosenfort, going to the feast hall to show it to his good friend, Lord Louis Joseph. @sashimichopped

"Lord Rosius, could you image such a thing to be true? A true shame they act this way, conspiring against us in private." The prince laughing a few times as he readied himself for a ride back to his Father's room, wherever it be. "It seems I did what I could to build the bridges, yet they wished to burn them before they were even finished.." With that he would dip his head to the Lord of Aaun, going to take his place beside his father and the others of Aaun in these very strange times.

Sophia was late to the party as always... Not having heard word of the gravity of happenings until her friends at court had informed her. The woman sighed, sat back in her armchair and contemplated in the brief moment of silence the eve offered. "What a mess." She murmured beneath her breath. And as she considered the flames of the fireplace, she reached for a cigarette and listened contentedly to the quiet of the room.

Ada Eloise Von Reuss picked at what words within the missive she could discern, though the context was not lost on her. War was afoot and the girl could not help but feel responsible for the part in which she played. "That was quick." She prays Johann did not strain a muscle producing that at such speeds.

The Prince of Alstion smiled weakly as he sends his informant away, leaving him to promptly resume his stern contortion as he paces along the walls of Brandthof - was he not doing everything in his powers to ensure peace and stability throughout humanity? Doubt plagued the Prince's mind, was Acre not fully in his right to deal with as sovereign? What would bring these outlanders so far as to dance with the fate of an excommunicant?

Yet when it was brought to him that the issue was being pressed nevertheless, what else could there be done? Certainly not allowing another partition of the land of his family, friends, and compatriots, nor be preyed subject to another bout of humiliation.

The Prince and Sovereign, however, took solace in the knowing that the Kingdom's subjects were united in this conviction of self-determinism - Aaun will not yet fall.

Wilheim Barclay would shove the missive into the chest of the nearest levyman once he had finished reading it inside the gateway to Wilheburg, before storming off to return to the warmth of his keep "If what mein cousins say is true, the King must enjoy putting me in awkward situations; he'd have made ein habit of it after this."

As Emil spoke to Louis Joseph as he finished his prayer to St. Edmond, signing the Lorraine - he then answered: "It is indeed a shame that those who lived under the reign of venerable Sigismund III are now the ones who oppose the Church. Yet it was them, the once truthfully Canonist Haeseni who defended the Church against schismatics and would now dare to do the same what the Old Empire did which was conquest for their own personal ambitions. Though I suppose, the current King is merely driven by madness rather than  faith in the Church. If this madman truly wishes to trade into the footsteps of those who his own father once opposed and turn the entirety of Canondom against him; then let this heretic King try together with the pathetic Novellenites."

Yet, despite the disappointment, he did pray for mercy for those who oppose such a plot. "If only they knew the consequences of a plot to conquer the Kingdom of Aaun. Neither the vassals that inhabit their lands or any Canonist would be having joy about it. I pray for those vassals that they will do what is right and oppose this tyrannical plan. And may GOD guide them by making that right decision."

His Holiness, Pontian IV having just returned from his isolated experience in Florentine discovered a few new patches of grey on his scalp! First a congress was called to resolve the Aaun-Acre war 'peacefully', then foreign vassals are discovered fighting for Acre and now this not-so secret plot. Clearly peace for Humanity was not what the rest of Canonism wanted.

The High Pontiff kneeled at an icon of the four Exalted, who were now staring down at him as if judging the High Priest's actions. A sigh escaped him "God.. give me strength and let peace reign.." is all he could muster, maybe just maybe it wasn't too late for them to see reason

Sigismond Varoche shook his head, placing a hand upon his his forehead, "Dio mio, must these warmongers and tyrants plot against Aaun at every step? Surely they will burn in hell for these trangressions against their faithful brothers of the faith," the Roach patted a beagle that sat in his tent before once more pondering to himself, "Alas all they care for is blood like brutes, they would rather slaughter their brothers then the true enemies of Humanity."

Petsch von Minitz wrinkled his brow as he signed the Lorraine. He'd grip the pommel of his longsword, he was tired. He now believes there's no other choice but to fight another brutal war.

"They wish upon our deaths. Why are they so adamant about war. May GOTT pass judgment upon the petran warriors we will bury"

The aging warrior would look up towards the bright blue sky, he took a deep breath before returning to his duties as a warrior. Maybe after this war he'll finally be able to rest, maybe even put down his sword for good.
