_mady07 1066 Popular Post Share Posted November 11, 2022 An Unanticipated Goodbye. _mady07 Hey, It's been a solid almost two years on LoTC, and around a year on staff. I assume most who will choose to read this will see only the first few words and understand what this is about. LoTC made a home for me when things were really bad in my personal life. I had no one really in my life I could talk too about what was going on, and I used LoTC as an escape. I'M SO MUCH BETTER! This is something I've been considering doing for awhile, When I first joined LoTC I thought it was so immersive and loved the Role Play, I've been role playing in MMOs and RPGs since I was seven years old and my mother could show me how to move w,a,s,d on her computer. I loved Lord of the craft and its communities for a very long time. I still love the people and things i've experienced >spoiler Even the bad shit.< LoTC gave me plenty of smiles and good days, I didn't think I'd be leaving this soon either, however I've discovered that each time I've tried to log on in the past 2 weeks I feel sick to my stomach. Obviously there are some underlying reasons and drama behind that whole problem that I've solved and figured out, however I'm here to share some of my experiences on Lotc as the Community Team General and Advocacy Manager, Mapdev member, CT enthusiast, TOTAL PVP GOON, blah blah irp leadership blah. And as a kid who had an amazing few years growing up on mine man rpg servers. ADVICE To Everyone, I. Stop taking things so seriously, Often we get so upset and overwhelmed at IRP and OOC conflicts this leads to GIANT arguments and problems. Be Humble, Remember that people exist on the other side of the screen. Treat people like people not like enemies. II. Once a week or so, take a moment and remind yourself. “Why am I on LoTC again?” This isn't out of embarrassment or anything of that matter. This is out of genuine thought process. What is your drive? III. Never allow people to treat you like you do not belong. (ditch them all) You are a good person, you shouldn't let anyone undermine what you've done. IV. SOMEONE IN HAENSE KEEP DE LEUVEN GOING FOR ME I LITERALLY LOVE WHERE ITS HEADED! To Community Team and its future members, I. Work on reminding yourselves what a team is. It's something I worked really hard to try and develop a group of people who didn't feel scared to do anything because of public opinion. II. Dude, this is mine man, you got this but remember not to work so hard and drive something so far into the ground that we forget that we have a media team Spoiler yes, I did call myself out. Try it more often. III. Work on keeping up with the media, though remember to cultivate a community, It's in the name. New players are as important as old players. Stop being quiet. IV. Breathe, you got this. LMAO the world still spins and im going to be upset if ANY of you leave because of me. Don't do it ill fight you all To Haense, Elvenesse, Oasis, Norland, Ando Alur, Amaetha, Celi’nor, Serheim, Oren, and literally every other community I’ve been involved in. Thank you, I really felt accepted and welcomed most the times ive been in these communities, Though this is unexpected and pretty sad on my part I really do cherish the memories and friends I've made. Nothing ive said is targeted at anyone negatively, Yes there have been problems leading to this point. All it did was kick start this inevitable ending a little sooner. If you read this far though i really do appreciate you. I likely wont be on Lotc, however I will be on discord occasionally.
