On the Draconic Inquisition

Spoiler

It should be noted as a prerequisite that whichever foolish Nephilim attempted to murder the Royal Family of Aaun are condemned by our Court in the strongest possible terms. The Nephilim should be thought of a race. Would the entirety of the highlanders be subjugated and exiled for the crimes of one peasant? Did your church excommunicate the entirety of humans for the actions of one sovereign? Whichever Nephilim did this obviously cared little for the Horenic Pact - and thus cannot be counted as one of our own, binded as we are to the protection of the children of Horen.

Who would we be to question the word of the Pontiff? Perhaps the threads of fate demand a warring upon our kind - as penance for the crimes of those that came before us, those dishonorable rogues whose misadventures have followed us ever since, biting at the heels of our attempts at reformation. Perhaps such is fitting.

However, the timing is inconvenient. We have every aim to assist in the protection of Balian against the undead corpse of Cloudbreaker, but if you intend to slaughter us, there will be little that we can do to help - and we do intend to help. However, if you are unable to think that we act in goodwill, treat it as revenge upon those servants of Iblees who gave life to the corpse.

We defended Cloudbreaker against the forces of Iblees. We warned the children of Horen of the impending threat, of the need to protect the Dragon. Were those warnings not justified? Were our actions not proof of the veracity of our words? We gain nothing from ruthless, pointless killings. We are not darkspawn. We have no need to sacrifice people to Azdromoth. The killings of Men provide no gain to us.

We were under the impression that we were on the path of redemption. We met with the Pontiff, speaking long and fruitfully of our kind, of the Pact, of the actions of rogue Nephilim. In fact, the Pontiff promised to baptize us. There are letters to prove such, yet.. The Pontiff failed to deliver upon those promises, them being made well before the recent events in Aaun. We can only wait for His promise to be kept.

"[ERROR] Opinion remains unmodified by DARKSPAWN missive ; INIQUITY is to be dismantled in REGION - Crownlands : [QUOTE] 'The Lord is the Lord GOD without peer, but you seek power alike to his, and even power equal. This is a selfish and impossible sin, for there is no power alike to GOD.' - THE SCROLL OF SPIRIT 7:8-9" A golden monk announces.

"Despite King Karl III's request that we baptise the Azdrazi, and His Holiness's polite consideration, His Holiness agrees with the rest of the Curia that it is and never was meant to be. It is both impossible, morally and theologically to welcome the Azdrazi into the fold. Whilst His Holiness did consider it, he also stated that any such action that proved the Azdrazi were not willing to behave would render such talks initiated by King Karl void - consider them such.

Within my lifetime the followers of Azdromoth made martyrs of priests and attacked Churches. Even if we ignore the theological reasoning behind rejecting Azdrazi requests to be accepted by humanity, we cannot ignore the actions of Azdrazi in the past and present. To accept one group of Azdrazi among the faithful is to accept them all, and time and time again the Azdrazi utilise their ill-gained power to condemn the Canonist peoples to death.

You are mistaken. You tried, try again in another hundred years. We will not waver. You are unwelcome." Cardinal Viktor concludes, still mourning his priestly comrade and kinsman Konstantin.

A certain Nephilim reviewed the text, its mad eyes began to flicker as words were read, its scaled lips then parted and words flushed "All races have committed crimes against the church, even some of my kin. Yet it seems when it is my kin that does something it's not forgotten as easily as other races. Nonetheless these actions? That has been acted by certain oath breakers shall be dealt with. GOD BLESS." Then the Nephilim would go back to slumber as stone did, it dreams of when the old knights of Horen would take the standard of the Dragons. . .

"Strongly disagree, coz," Stanimar replies, "Talk like this is what justifies idiots to ask for a pardoning of the Azdrazi any time they do good for a change. But it's wrong: The Azdrazi aren't evil because of what they do, but because of what they are. I don't give a shit if an Azdrazi jumps into a river and saves 10 drowning puppies. He'll still be an immortal demon who mocks God's judgement and worships a Lieutenant of Iblees. The only way such a creature could redeem itself would be to end its unnatural existence and face the Lord's judgement like any mortal being should."

The same Azdrazi would try to remember when he last worshipped his beloved father as he strongly remembers that sons do not worship fathers, knights do not worship their king. . . Then would remember how Iblees tried to kill azdromoth. . .

An ancient, senile librarian goes through his own documents. His gigantic, dragaaric brain pulses momentarily as he randomly outbursts with the sentence of,

"This never happened"

Monk's rot is a terrible thing, an affliction to the brain that seemingly causes people to hear voices and talk to others.  He smacks his head with his cane, commits some flatulence and then continues to read his books.

Aulkhorian wonders why mortals continue to entertain the use of 'forum diplomacy'. "Do you think us weaklings?" He'd then scoff. "Do you think we are victims? What rubbish you pen."

Kor'garr the Clanless ponders over the missive, scanning it with a look of perplexion while also leafing through books in the library of San'Velku. A nearby flask of grog is carefully held to his lips as he squints, crimson eyes peering at the parchment through dim torchlight.

TRANSLATION:

"Strange... At one point the humans and Dragonspawn were allies of honor and blood. Now the whole world, even the peoples  of Horen-kind they claim to serve, have turned against them..."

"Perhaps Kor'garr, and all the orcs, were wrong to judge the Azdrazi so quickly as Dark. They have cast aside the name of their corrupted ancestor, or so they claim, and now wish to war against the undead by our side. With the Spirit's blessings, may their actions against Cloudbreaker's corpse prove the strength of such words. In the meantime, Kor'garr thinks the world should see more of this research I have found... The Kaktuz Weekli will do."
