Princess Lydia of Balian was heartened and overjoyed by the invitation, though she had been expecting it after how often she and the older royal had spoken over the last few years. The youngest Novellen hurried off to show her sister and father, making an effort to withhold details of the nuptials from her eldest brother, Hadrian. This was a royal affair, after all, and she felt he still had many manners to learn!

Henry fixed his circlet and nodded decisively - he was going to dance with someone.

 

Later that night, the boy dropped down to his bed, devastated that there, in fact, seemed to be no mention of dancing in the invitation.

While sitting at her work bench within her royal apartment, the Princess Royal would be tinkering away, examining and experimenting with different nuts and bolts to best fix her cuckoo clock. As her younger sister barrelled through her doors, Elena’s wrench would fly out of her palm, clanging against the floor. Her annoyance was short lived as she quickly discovered what had spurred her sisters excitement. It would not be long before the two girls would begin chatting excitedly about what they would wear and who they would meet!
