Werew0lf 12019 Popular Post Share Posted January 31, 2023 THRALLS OF THE WHITE STAG Return of the White Stag THE FIRST LIGHT The votary of the White Lord has, in times passing, been filled by ephemeral mortals who dilapidated the endowment of purity gifted by the pure stag. Those children of the dreaded brothers, who abused his gratuity with irresponsible self desire since when the menace Setherien toppled great fortresses, to the age of the stags return. It was the patron of white-scales, the Blinding Flame Sordran, who remained a loyal hand to the blessed stag for centuries, slumbering upon his glorious realm filled with rivers of milk and forests of gleaming light. The White Lord was tiresome of those failing to reach his criterion, unable to commit to his design. As was characteristic to its kind, Sordran was conceited in nature, and saw purpose in ensuring the age of purity remained. However, he was also kind and caring, for he wished to help those who came before him. In solitude upon the gardens of the White Stag, his flaring crystalline wings beat like drums, before the patron made flight. He scoured the land, in hopes of finding mortal agents worthy of being acknowledged by the White Lord once again. He kept eyes on those who battled during the scourge of the dark-harbour, or those of worth in past tidings. For the Silverblade knew. The chosen few who would fill the gardens of the Aengul of Purity once more.. WHAT IS PURITY? ‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒ A misunderstood concept in itself, the complex nature of the White Stag cannot be comprehended by his mortal agents. However, those lowly servants of the pure-beast Sordran are taught the simple fundamentals of the stags cosmological design. Purity is: – The cleanliness of the soul, untampered by those not in lieu with the original plan. – The innocence of mortal intention, one that is not influenced by otherworldly means. – The desire to remove mortal suffering, for that dims the light of the cosmos. Yet, the White Stag does not gawk at purity in the same light as others. He does not wish for wanton sacrifice of his followers to ensure mortal desire, as it does not follow his plan. The very concept of being ominous, which should not permeate in the realm of purity, encompasses the Lord Stag. He does not seek heroes to ravish the world of unlawful crimes made by descendant mistakes, for that is the nature of their being. If a hero is born amongst his ranks, the White Lord does not care. It is the disgust of corruption that tampers with this orderly nature that makes it impure, and that is what he desires to get rid of. Sadly, those of aeons past did not see the truth behind the meaning of purity, and it is still unclear. The Aengul of Purity is mysterious, for even his brothers and sisters do not understand the ideal view of his incomprehensible temperament. Sordran has returned to the mortal continent, and has begun to spread whispers of the White Stag. The great claws of the pure-beast sting with an eternal light that bestows to his mortal agents an excruciating pain. The light of the soul is untampered. It shines bright, in order to guide us. Life, a state of purity. Death, a state of purity. A precious jewel of the greediest man. A youth bullying in his adolescence. A man who kills his adulterous wife. A withered flower lacking sunlight. It is pure. ‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒ THE JUDGEMENT Penance of the Blinding Flame A LESSON ON PURITY “You harbinger of purity, do not tamper with mortal nature. It is not suited to the greater design.” Sordran teaches those who return to the path of purity to not tamper with mortal nature. The White Stag does not care of mortal crimes, for sin is a concept that is most pure in the design of the Creator. It is without flaw, and serves a purpose that he is ignorant of. The patron Malleus judges what should and what shouldn’t, but that is something that can be determined by the patron-judge when the time of reckoning comes. “The purgatory of impure, feel the pain of light for your mistake.” Sordran reminds those in the path of purity to remember the history of their kindred, who lavished in self-desire. He is unlike the White Stag, for in the nature of the patron dragaar, it is not unkindled to using pain as punishment. “Heed the beast, guide yourself with the gem of light.” Sordran acknowledges the light of the soul bestowed by the purity of the White Lord. He reminds mortal agents to look into their pure souls to find the answers to their questions, and not to be influenced by others. “Be wary of the machinations of corruption. They are not of the design.” Sordran imbeds the elden tenant of the White Stag; do not acknowledge or attempt to befriend those who are considered darkspawn knowingly, for they are corrupt of soul and heart. All who do not fall under the remit of the Aengul of Purity shall be seen as enemies, who wish to wilt the flowers of his garden and sour the river of milk. “You are unworthy of the gift, until proven otherwise. ” Sordran is cruel with his words, and makes his distrust blatantly obvious. He does not trust those who bear the light of the White Stag, for his master has seen betrayal through his years. However, the pure-beast will acknowledge all who follow the path set out for them, to eventually gain access to the gardens of the Aengul. Spoiler ‒ Those who do not follow the lessons of the pure-beast will feel an excruciating amount of pain begin to sprawl across their body. A sensation that matches the shattering of bones and tearing of tendons which lasts for hours. It is a painful lesson that one must endure for the mistakes of the past. ‒ A lot of these lessons are up for interpretation, in order to spice up the roleplay of the designated thrall. ‒ The most obvious lesson, being the fourth lesson, is one that must be roleplayed from the moment it is broken. If one willingly covets, befriends, or makes alliance with a darkspawn, they must roleplay the above redline. If this tenant is broken on numerous occasions, they may be visited by the Blinding Flame, or the Judge Malleus if most severe. ‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒ THE BOONS Blessing of the White Stag A LAST CHANCE A valiant star gleams in the night-sky, encroached in a brilliance that outshines other stars. The milky clouds meld with his scales, clattering backwards to produce cracks of white twines. Slowly, it comes down, casting a churning sparkle from his beating wings. Gift of Painful Light [Connection to the White Stag] - Tahariae does not acknowledge descendants to be worthy of the gift of the first light, touched by the brilliant stag. The patron of the stag fears that his master will be let down once again by mortal kind, and so offers but one solution. The pale-beast will be the gift-bearer and the gift-thief. He will only present the gift of the White Lord to those most worthy, so those who have it may spread it to others. Spoiler ‒ The initial event to be connected to this feat will be done via an event, to reintroduce the magic after it has been gone for a prolonged time. However, after this is done, those who are taught the means of connection must have it marked on their [FA], which then allows them to take on new students. They hold (3) slots to teach new students, with a slot refreshing every (3) IRL months after the initial connection. ‒ The first [TA]s will be taught by the patron who delivers this boon via the event above, and thereafter, one may share the ritual to another thrall once every [4] IRL months. One must have been a Thrall for [3] IRL months to receive the ability to connect new Thralls. The only exception to this are the initial grandfathers. ‒ When connecting another person to the feat, the roleplay to do so is free-form in terms of aesthetic as long as it fits the purity, white or bright theme. ‒ This feat cannot be dropped by any means, unless one would be disconnected through the methods outlined above. They would forever be in thrall to the White Stag. ‒ This feat may only be acquired by those who are not darkspawn, voidally attuned, attuned to druidism or connected to a deific magic / feat already. The following may be updated in the future. Please see the following list: Naztherak, Mysticism, Necromancy, Azdrazi, Siliti and other CAs related to the above dark magic, Paladins of Xan, Templars of Malchediel, all voidal MAs, CAs and FAs, and all druidic MAs, CAs and FAs. Those who bear Tawkin mutations are unable to become Thralls, as such is bodily impurity. ‒ One would be unable to bring their Light to bear and cast their magicks if they possess prosthetics of voidal or deific origin, or the grafts of Tawkin. Injury Chart - Minor Injury - Cuts, bruises, lumps, spots. Major Injury - Deep cuts (i.e. being stabbed but not the whole way), Loss of small limbs. Severe Injury - Loss of limb or organs, deep wounds (i.e. blade going through stomach). Breath of Purity [3 emotes] [2 encounter-use] - The chosen thrall will begin to connect with the shimmering light that sustains across their body. After connecting to this painful light, the acknowledged thrall can open their maw to disperse a waft of air fluttering with starlight onto a designated target. This will begin to heal the targeted individual of one major injury. Spoiler ‒ This requires (3) emotes to cast. ‒ This can only be used (2) times in any encounter to heal a major injury. However, this may be used for an unlimited time outside of combat if one is simply healing minor injuries such as small cuts. ‒ The 1st emote is preparing to cast. One must emote tells, such as veins of light that steam and bubbles the flesh. ‒ The 2nd emote is the apparition of light upon the throat, as it prepares to roll out. ‒ The 3rd emote is the cast, in which steamy starlight escapes the mouth of the thrall onto the designated target. ‒ The breath can reach up to (6) blocks away onto a designated target. ‒ Upon landing onto the target, it will heal a major injury. This can be up to one small limb (such as a hand, not a full arm or leg) or deep cuts. ‒ If the target is considered an exposed darkspawn, they will feel an excruciating amount of pain that matches that of the thrall who used it, rendering them unable to complete another action for (1) emote. It will not heal any injuries on the darkspawn. ‒ After the casting is complete, the thrall of Sordran will feel an excruciating amount of pain sting at their throat from the heat of the light, that will stop them from committing another action for (1) emote. Shattered Light of White Stag [3 emotes] [1 encounter-use] - The chosen thrall may bring forth their inner-light, causing steamy starlight to begin escaping the pores of the thrall. Their flesh bubbles and burns, as this blinding light forms a temporary shield around the person, in order to withdraw darkspawn from making contact with them. Spoiler ‒ This requires (3) emotes to cast. ‒ This spell lasts for (5) emotes. ‒ This can only be used (1) time in any encounter. ‒ This is a defence-type spell. ‒ Upon casting, the 3x3 radius of the thrall will grow warm and have sparkles of light around them. All exposed darkspawn who attempt to enter this radius will feel an excruciating amount of pain that slowly builds up over time. ‒ A darkspawn that stays in the radius for (1st) emote will feel pain across their body, warning them to stay away. ‒ A darkspawn that stays in the radius for (2nd) emote will begin to feel their body burning with the purity of the stag, causing those who have skin or scales to start burning away slowly. Those darkspawn who do not have skin or scales will only feel the pain, such as the undead. ‒ A darkspawn that stays in the radius for (3rd) emote will begin to feel their very bones begin to slowly melt, moulding with their skin and sapping their body of the strength to move. Those darkspawn who do not have skin or scales will only feel the melting of bones, such as the undead. ‒ All phantom races such as intangible ghosts or wights will still feel the excruciating pain, though they would suffer no physical downsides. ‒ This barrier cannot deflect or stop darkspawn magic or projectiles. ‒ The thrall will feel an excruciating amount of pain that renders their body unable to move for the (5) emotes that it is cast. Their skin will visibly bubble and pop, and they may puke viscera. However, after the (5) emotes are over, the damage will heal after (1) to return them to their state before the cast (i.e. they sustain all injuries before the cast, but the damage caused by this cast on themselves will disappear). ‒ All people not considered darkspawn are unaffected by this, and can step into the barrier. Cleansing of the Bright Lord [4 emotes] [1 day-use.] - The chosen thrall may remedy the ailments of others, as is the prerogative of their kind. By taking (4) emotes to bring the purifying starlight gifted by the Blinding Flame to bear, thereafter bathing the afflicted individual in the mending shroud as their body burns and bubbles from the vast wealth of deific magic flowing through them. This ability may only be cast once per IRL day, and may mend the following conditions; -All forms of poison or disease, magical or otherwise, with E.T plagues requiring communication with the E.T to be able to mend. -Curses or mental influences cast by Dark or Shamanic sources, up to Tier (3) in power. Azdrazi Brands and Siliti Runes of Binding require [2] Thralls to cleanse, alongside the Corcitura Curse. Cursed items follow the guidelines laid out in their respective lore pieces for cleansing. Spoiler ‒ This requires (4) emotes to cast. ‒ This spell may only be cast once per IRL day, incurring a great and terrible toll upon the Thrall’s body from the unfiltered wealth of divine power forced through their beings, unable to engage in combat for [1] IRL day. ‒ Those being cleansed would find themselves paralyzed in place, unable to move or act as they would suffer the same pains as the Thrall - unable to engage in combat for (1) IRL day. ‒ One must be 100% certain that there is a curse or disease present in order to cleanse it. ‒ This ability cannot be cast upon oneself. Weave of Fate [Passive] Owing to their tether to the Aengul of Purity, those who wield the Light are likewise tied into the weave of fate, and may receive prophetic visions of events yet to come. Uniquely, they may also receive prophetic visions sent directly by their patron Aengul at ST discretion, for purposes of guidance in event scenarios or forewarnings of calamities to come. Spoiler ‒ This is a passive ability of the Thrall, entitling them to receive prophetic visions as outlined under the Prophecy lore piece, subject to all redlines and guidelines of such. ‒ Visions sent from Tahariae himself may follow any format of the ST’s choosing, and must be greenlit by ST management. Touched by Purity [Passive] Touched by Purity Himself, the Thrall takes on a host of intrinsic traits inherent of their servitude to the Lord of Purity. Their touch would become akin to aurum, though this would not extend to their arms or armor. Passively, minor cuts and inconsequential injuries of those around them, alongside small scars, would vanish in motes of starlight if the Thrall would will it. Perhaps most importantly, as Tahariae suffers none to claim what belongs to Himself, Thralls of the White Stag may not be raised as undead creatures, be turned to dark magicks or creatures such as Vargr, or their corpses be utilized for dark rites or sacraments. Spoiler ‒ The touch of the Thrall being akin to Aurum extends only to their bare skin, meaning their blades or armor do not take on similar traits. ‒ The ability to heal minor injuries such as small cuts and insignificant bruises are for the purposes of aesthetic, narrative-driven roleplay. It cannot be used to heal deep cuts and wounds. ‒ The inability of the Thrall to be raised as Undead or turned to Dark Creatures possesses only the exception of the Siliti transformation, as it fundamentally resets and alters the soul, cheating the White Stag of His prize. Their corpses may not be used to craft Necrotic Reanimations, they may not fall prey to the Corcitura curse, etc. Tells [Aesthetics] - A cleric of the pure stag, when endowing their prowess into the area, will have numerous tells to portray their strength and deific nature. For some, fractures of white-light will sizzle around their hands and limbs, or surround their body when casting. However, others may simply have a more gore-filled appearance with bubbling flesh and bursting ichor. Spoiler ‒ The aesthetic choice for a Thrall is up to the user as long as it fits the pure theme. However, they must ensure that during the cast, their skin bubbles and burns, or equivalent tells and damage are incurred (such as one’s skin being splintered and cracked akin to ceramic, their form slowly flaking away into divine light which would mend upon recovery, etc.) ‒ Outside of combat, the cleric is able to cast these tells, but it serves no purpose outside of showing off their strength. For example, having sizzling white light surround their hands. Purpose The last cleric lore post had numerous good ideas, however it had some thematic issues. I believe it would be sensible to get clericsm out as a feat to be a foot in the door, to see if it will work or not. Tahariae should not be trusting of mortals to the extent of returning his full power, and so it has a lot of redlines in regards to the imperfect prowess harming the user, though serving its purpose. See it as the DLC that is awaiting the full game. EA sports, it's in the stag.
