O’ GUD, VOR HJELP I GYNE ERE, Following the unexpected death of the Viscountess of Venzia, Dame Ada ‘the Dauntless’ Natalya Colborn - may God rest her soul - a period of transition has taken over in the Scyfling House of Colborn. Her chosen successor and cousin, Baldrum Carr Ingvar Colborn, has taken on the mantle of the Viscount and Protector of Scyflings. In Scyfling fashion, he has found the need to choose an heir for himself from the pool of promising young Colborns. For generations, the House of Colborn has followed the Scyfling practice of choosing a clan leader - Head of House - by their merit rather than birthright. Therefore, for his contributions to family history through translating several ancient scrolls, his keen political sense, talent, and willingness to learn, the Viscount wishes to make it known that he has chosen Carolus Ivan Colborn as his successor to carry the noble name of Colborn until the Protector’s death or abdication. Carolus Ivan Colborn shall henceforth be known as the Heir of House Colborn, Heir to the Viscounty of Venzia, Barony of Bethlenen, Lordship of Vorenburg, and the future Protector of Scyflings.
