Purpose

For a long time in the past Krug’s folk have been segregated into multiple clans and nations - a history of infighting and inner-turmoil that's for the longest time weakened Orc-kind, halting them from reaching their true potential, leaving them vulnerable time and time again.

 Disregarding the Blood of Krug - common to all of them - gushing through their veins,

Failing to acknowledge the thumping hardships all of their race together face,

Locked in a world that commonly loathes and fails to understand their ways,

yet also one which without them is prone to easily break.

The Krug-hai thus rise as an unified military force to band together all Orcish Forces under the guiding Axe of Krug; be them blooded by birth, honoraries, or subjects; leaving aside cultural differences of the Clans and of their own individuals for the greater sake of the Uzg and of their race.

The name (Krug-hai) translates from Old Blah to “Krug’s Folk”, the reason for such being every Orc is expected to pick up arms for battle, independent of gender, subrace, background or anything else; with the sole purpose to fight for the Orcish Nation.

The Code of the Krug-hai

One of The Krug-hai Shall:

Be Utterly Loyal to The Horde, The Rex & The Targoth,

Rising to Challenge them one day, should they find themselves better for the Horde;

Acknowledge Our Kin is Stronger Together,

Be the Boot that Stomps any who dare betray or weaken the Horde in any shape or form

& Neither bring detriment to it yourself;

Act with Honor and Tame their Bloodlust,

Orcs are not to be rabid beasts, but rather the mightiest warriors of mortal-kind - learn to master yourself;

Slaughter All Foes with "Fight" in them, but Spare the Weak,

A Krughai must know how to discern a warrior from the defenseless and frail, and know which to slay - we are not monsters;

Purge all that is Dark in name of Scorthuz, & all that is Undead in name of Kor,

Never succumb to their temptations, nor break bread with them, for they are our kin's Eternal Foe, and it's our duty to protect all other peoples from them.

<A Mautor blowing his war-horn, ushering the Krug-hai into battle>

The Targoth

(Old Blah: “High/Great Master/Lord”)

Spoiler

The Paramount Commander & Leader of the Krug-hai, responsible for handling all the military affairs of The Horde with aid of their Warboss Council(composed by the Mautors and the Pizbûr).

More than a great warrior in their own right, the Targoth must possess great management skills to keep the military up and running with training and activities, whilst also being an able commander in the battlefield, capable at diplomacy and in keeping Order throughout the Uzg as a whole.

To Challenge a Targoth, one must first become a Mautor or Pizbûr (depending on the occasion), having proved themselves at length already. Then they must earn the blessings of the rest of the Warboss Council and the Rex, at last proposing a Honor Klomp/Duel to their Targoth, taking their place should they win or the Targoth recognize their successor.

Such challenges are to be accepted in times wherein a newer member of the Warboss Council shows promise in being a better leader than the current Targoth.

The Targoth often wields a weapon with an ax, in homage to Krug and his own Legendary Axe. This may range from a normal one-handed battle axe to a poleaxe.

The Mautors

(Old Blah: “Warrior-Chief”; The Lieutenants)

Spoiler

The Commissioned Officers of the Krug-hai and the 2nd Highest Rank in the Hierarchy, appointed by the Targoth to help manage different areas of the Krug-hai as delegated by their superior.

Generally there ought to be around 2 Mautors at a single time, but never more than 3. It’s also not unheard of Mautors challenging each other to establish a rank among themselves, to define the ‘1st, 2nd and 3rd Mautor’, with the 1st being the single greatest candidate to take after the current Targoth.

They albeit possess helpers of their own, in the form of the Pizbûr, which are prone to either be appointed or “adopted” by a Mautor, often being prepared to take after them when either the time comes or they prove themselves better for the role (challenge or not).

Mautors require a greater degree of intelligence, capability and merit than the Pizbûr.

The Pizbûr

(Old Blah: “Sergeant”)

Spoiler

The Non-Commissioned Officers of the Krug-hai, serving mainly as assistants and trainees to the Mautors, albeit still having the authority to command the Krug-hai during the absence of the higher ranks.

They are generally chosen from among the upper-echelon of the Mauzûrk, as ranked by the Worth-System, should they show potential.

The prospect Pizbûr then has to undergo a trial period wherein they must prove and earn the trust and right to command others. They shall perform all of their duties without any real power over other Krug-hai.

From there on they may choose to settle at this rank or dare climb higher on the hierarchy, picking up on more duties.

Suffice to say, Pizbûr are also the most ‘vulnerable’ officer rank, for any of the Mauzûrk Warriors may rise to grasp their place should they idle.

(Krug-hai) Mauzûrk

(Old Blah: “Warrior [of Krug’s Folk]”)

Spoiler

The base rank for all dedicated krug-hai who chose to commit to military service, having undergone their initiation trials, sworn their vows and undergone the Pact of Blood with the standing Targoth, now true warriors of the Uzg - a great honor in itself, one which every capable Orc should aspire to achieve.

The Mauzûrk Warriors are expected to be the foremost fighting force of the Horde, seeking to maintain its welfare and stability, and to protect its lands just as well as their brothers and sisters.

Each Mauzûrk is part of the Ranking System of the Krug-Hai, which measures their merit based on their spoils and service in the name of the Horde - the higher they rank, the more privileges they award.

The ones higher in the ranking are eligible to become Pizbûr. The highest Krug-hai may also seize command in situations wherein absolutely no Warboss/Leader, Keshig, or other authority is present, but the way they organize it varies according to the situation and those present.

Competition is encouraged among the Mauzûrk, bragging rights awarded to the higher Orc; although such rivalry should never turn lethal, and should remain honorbound, lest it risks evoking the Targoth’s ire.

Grunav [Initiates/Conscripted Auxiliaries]

(Old Blah: “Grunt”)

Spoiler

As the name says - Krug-hai (Krug’s Folk) - are to be part of the Army in some capacity.

This means all Orcs & Honoraries are to be enrolled into the Krug-hai as auxiliaries/reservists as young as 16 years old (while being able to willingly join the Krug-hai at a younger age); and called upon to boost the army in times of greater military effort (war, sieges, raids, etc).

Alongside with them, also conscripted into this rank, are any subjects of the Horde capable of combat, such as vassal warriors, gladiators, underlings and those still undergoing honorary trials. Those unable to fight, who are neither Honoraries or Orcs, are not conscripted.

While vassal warriors may rise to become Mauzûrk- pledging foremost fealty to the Rex, Targoth and especially the Horde itself - the others remain unable to climb the military hierarchy, locked as grunts until they become honoraries.

To Grunavs no privileges are awarded, as their dedication lies not in the army; though they are always welcome to change that, whenever they wish to put in the effort.

To do so and ascend they must undergo their basic training and initiation rites, alongside other Grunav.

Like all other ranks, the Leaders of the Krug-hai are to be addressed by the Grunav with utter respect and loyalty, despite it being comprehensible they ought to lack the same professionalism of the Mauzûrk and Warbosses.

((OOC NOTE: Spreadsheet with Worth-System Points registered at the Krug-hai Discord))

As aforementioned, the Krug-hai are measured according to their actions and merit, recorded by the Targoth and their Warbosses to keep track of the Mauzûrk’s overall activity.

The more a Krug-hai does for the Horde - the more duties they fulfill - the more points they award, and with them the higher they climb the ladder of the Mauzûrk (the Grunav not participating in this).

The Higher a Mauzûrk ranks, the more they are awarded with:

Spoiler

1) Supplies such as:

-Minas;

-Special/custom crafted goods  & alchemicals;

-Discounts/free goods from the Tavern among other stalls of the Uzg;

-Indications to become Keshig;

-Indications to become Champions of Spiritual Shrines;

-etc;

For it’s only logical the superior Warrior is better equipped and well fed.

2) The right to take charge of lower ranking Krug-hai in exceptional occasions where no leadership figures are combat, should combat ensue

For being of higher rank proves their experience and ongoing field-activity (whereas an elder may be more experienced, yet grown rusty).

3) Tattoos, trinkets, written-records, songs, etc; as Displays & Signs of Remarkable Good-Work or/and Great Sploits & Feats.

For the triumph of one of the Krug-hai is to be known and celebrated by all, and that Warrior to be seen as exemplary.

*Ologs mainly receive greater/lesser rations of food based on their obedience and overall worth.*

Activities to Earn Points in the Worth-System of the Krug-hai:

Spoiler

-General activity protecting the goi and the horde’s lands;

-Participation in events (army trainings, patrols, hunts, guarding celebrations, escorting, etc);

-Defeating enemies of the Horde;

-Defeating darkspawn (with different values to each <known> type);

-Though other things can also award them points, should Leadership see fit.

All of this requires proper evidence to be recognized by the Targoth or a Warboss.

Honor Klomps in the Krug-hai:

Spoiler

A Krug-hai Warrior may challenge another to a non-lethal Honor Klomp (Hur’Mauk) wherein they’ll bet as many points as they wish.

Upon total agreement from both parties the two shall fight [PvP or CRP], the winner taking the loser’s points for themself.

The Duel must be held with honor, and no maiming or killing blows are to be delivered, for that would weaken the Krug-hai. Failing to abide by these norms would lead to consequences, the most immediate one being the perpetrator is deemed the loser, handing off their points to the other Warrior.

Those Honor Klomps aren’t strictly 1v1s (there may be 2v2s, 3v3s, 2v1s, etc)  but will always require the total absolute consensual agreement from both parties.

All of this requires proper evidence to be recognized by the Targoth.

Reasons for being stripped of Points:

Spoiler

-Disobedience, irreverence or/and disrespect towards the Warbosses, Targoth or/and the Rex;

-Acting dishonorably or committing harm towards other denizens of the Horde outside of Honor Klomps, or lethal harm in non-lethal Klomps;

-Meddling with Voidal and/or Dark magic;

-Causing any harm to the Horde and its Stability in any way;

-Going against the Targoth’s Will, or acting without their permission in the due areas;

-Succumbing to the Ibleesian Curse of Bloodrage unwillingly (unlike those who trigger it with calculated purpose, like the Berserkers of Gorkil) thus causing detriment;

Each week a number of points is taken from the current count of all Krug-hai to keep the rank  shifting. The total historical amount of points is kept recorded besides.

Kor'garr the Clanless looks over the singularly massive announcement on the structure of the Krug-hai. His face is conficted, but then turns to one of nodding along as he occasionally uses a quill to dot and underline certain sections for his later use in the Kaktuz Weekli. The greyskin lets out a rumbling chuckle when he reaches the sections upon rewards and a more important place being given to acts of Merit.

"Hozh Ideeyuz, agh dah Horde haz needed moar dizciplin vor mani yeerz... Buht duz Kuvirr hav dah ztrenkt tu proov et? Unli tik wyll tehl. Much uv diz iz juzt writing down wut wuz ulreddi ekzpektyd." The Skriptgoth lets out a bellow of harsh laughter, missive crumpling in his hands as his head jerks away from the open front door he had been shouting through. A large orc slipper swishes through the air next to his thick tusks, crimson eyes widening at the near hit before he wanders back to his tower from the apartment complex.
