As the children of His Royal Majesty are beginning to enter adulthood, the Palatio Monterosa sees it fit that they each have their own staff to assist them in their day-to-day activities. The young Princesses shall take on a small entourage of dona’s maid and the Princes shall take on valets who shall work at the direct order of the Prince or Princess they serve or the Governess of Monterosa.

 

DONA’S MAID

 

A dona’s maid works directly as a servant to one of the Princesses of Balian, typically working at her direct command unless otherwise specified. A Princess would typically have two or three dona’s maids at a time to ensure that one is always present if needed. A dona’s maid is expected to be trained in skills that will allow them to best support their Princess, typically taking on crafts such as penmanship, sewing, embroidery, the culinary arts, or foreign languages. While a new dona’s maid is not required to hold one of these skills, it is expected that they hone their skills during their time in service.

 

VALET

 

A valet works as a servant to one of the Princes of Balian, working under the command of the Prince or his consort, as needed. Akin to the dona’s maids, a prince would typically have a minimum of two valets in their service at any given time. Valets are trained in skills that would best benefit their Prince or his household. Unlike a dona’s maid, on top of household skills, a valet is expected to be trained in crafts such as hunting or skinning which may prove to be useful to a Prince or his acquaintances.

Anyone interested in working as a Dona’s Maid or Valet for the Prince and Princesses of Balian should refer to the bulletin of positions below and send word of interest to the Palatio Monterosa via bird or word of mouth. A Dona’s Maid or Valet actively completing their duties shall be compensated a sum of 15 mina per week and housed within the servant quarters of the Palatio Montersoa if a room is available.
