When does your right to roleplay on LOTC get permanently revoked? [TW]

Hello.

 

This is a post that I wrote today in regards to the un-banning of a player. My prior experience with this player is something I have carried with me since 2018. So, I have written my opinion and questions about the matter in response to conversations I've had with the administration and other players.

 

If people spam this with memes & toxicity, please don't just lock the thread and ignore it. Actually do the job of moderating them so we can have this pretty important conversation.

It's an incredibly difficult, and brave thing to tackle and talk about something like this - and it must be spoken about. Those who mock and laugh at this kind of thing only show what kind of a people they are - people we don't want on LOTC at all. Our community has got to have standards, and it has got to have the ability to say "Oh, let's not say this", or "Oh, let's not tolerate that."

 

This goes beyond decency - the sort of thing that Muna has shown here is unthinkably vile, and I'm glad Muna's got the bravery and chops to show it, knowing there are people in this community who would just as easily laugh about it then decry it.

Hes been unbanned for some time, wonder why you try to get him banned once he gets involved in war... seems like some intention here. He served 4 years, 1460 days. (even more if you are talking about where those screenshots are from, since they are 2018) People change.

I do think there's a huge difference between getting angry and threatening someone physical or sexual violence. It's common sense and politeness to avoid such things and if playing mineman makes you say such things. This would be the time where you'd need a break. However, there are limits on what you should say and how you would overeact, no matter who you are or what are the reasonings. I completely 100% agree. It's kinda disgusting. Especially if the excuse given was the "Dewper's era".

I only want to say that I have truly been a horrible person and that I do not expect of your forgiveness, but I do want to tell you I am sorry for my past behaviour and I sincerely do not want to be that kind of person anymore. You have no obligation to me and I understand that, please just consider my apology, I do feel sick of myself when I think of things I used to say and the way I used to behave, I do regret the way I treated other people and I have tried my best to change myself since that time. There is nothing I can really do to take back the things I have said or the way I used to act, but I swear to you that I do not behave that way anymore. I support your feelings and cannot do anything but offer my forgiveness in stead of my past actions. I will defend myself in that I am not a sexual deviant or anything of that sort, as many people can attest, and none can testify toward, but that is neither here nor there and I sincerely apologize. That is all.

i completely understand your reasoning for being mad at this, i don't know either side but, i would say a 4 year ban was enough, if only he would give you a good apology directly then both sides should do the peace and go on with their lives

I believe people can change, ppl growing up on the server can be easily influenced by other people in a negative way.

Odd time to re-hash an already put out fire. All this being brought up because of a war, with little plots and talks about getting certain Bvale and Adria players banned in little private discords. People change, he's apologized and served his time. Almost 5 years ago, almost half a decade, and you really think someone can't change. Quite the assumption. I personally believe in redemption and second chances.
