"Ah pray we do no' bend to these cravenly terms," Arthur Gant muttered to himself as he looked to the South. "If the Aaunishmen wish t' roll over and die, that's their business. Ah wish t' die a man, sword in 'and."

Arthur crouched in the shadows, his heart pounding with anticipation as he waited for the Aaunite soldier to draw near. The crossbow felt heavy in his hands, and he took a deep breath to steady his nerves. His eyes locked onto his target, the murderous intent burning in his mind.

As the soldier approached, Arthur raised his weapon with utmost care, taking aim with deadly precision. He could feel his finger twitching on the trigger, ready to release the bolt and end the soldier's life.

Seconds turned into minutes, the tension growing thicker with every passing moment. But just as Arthur was about to make his move, a bell sounded from the walls of Velec, followed by cries of Armistice.

For a moment, Arthur stood frozen in disbelief, his mind struggling to process the sudden turn of events. Slowly, he lowered his crossbow and let out a deep sigh of frustration and disappointment.

Reluctantly, he retreated back into the dark of the forest, feeling a sense of bitter resignation. The soldier would live another day, but Arthur knew that his thirst for revenge would never be fully quenched. The memory of this missed opportunity would haunt him for a long time to come.

Robyrt took great stride in reading over the missive. He was no commander, no king, he could not truly understand the move made by Charles, but if it must be so, 'leave Adria to the Adrians', he thought. Admiring the Reinmaren blue and green band around his right cuff, and the shiny Barclay Medal he received, a smile formed. "The King gave these people what they wanted, now they can shut up", he said with laughter.

Ferdinand Foch Quote: “This is not a peace. It is an armistice for twenty years.”

From her Petran bakery, Anne heard from a nearby customer of the news. "Well, they can try for excommunication, but you cannot change actions that go against the good Lord. Murders will remain murders like that poor Sarkozic girl, and undergoing penance will not clean bloody hands." She said idly. "Always demanding, without ever a spine he is. I've never seen a monarch like it in my lifetime."
