"If His Majesty the King of Aaun gives away his own capital and lands, what is he really king of? King Nothing." murmured Lucien d'Azor after hearing the news "What a coward. Instead of fighting for his people he quickly submits to his enemy's desires. He is unworthy of his royal title and the people of his kingdom. Unworthy of his crown. I hope His Holiness notices this as well and strips him of his rank."

"You must be rather delusional to think that a sane monarch would send himself into the spears alongside his people until there is no one left to form a Kingdom at all.

A similar thing almost happened during the Brother's War, according to the history books, do you not remember?. Almost forgot, Peter IV even got executed for doing so in such endeavor. If a monarch is lost, so is the Kingdom itself.

Consider this Peace Treaty to be the efficient resolve into allowing a populace to keep living other then vouching for them all to die.

By God, I hope you are never in charge of peace conferences lad. "

Caius Godwin then proceeded to sleep again.

Dhul'Qarnayn sorted through many pieces of correspondence between himself and one of the Adrian High Command. The erstwhile painter from Balian, now living in Barrowton, had exchanged the paintbrush for the compass and conducted reconnaissance and espionage missions for the great army based in Velec. He remembered the first encounter watching the mighty host clash with levies from Minitz and Vienne and how their command wrestled victory; he remembered proving himself a worthwhile agent after climbing the parapets of Velec's Castle and watching them entreat with the prisoners from Aaun.

With this armistice, he returned to the brush with this new peace. He sat himself before a canvas in his quiet farmhouse in Barrowton and painted a landscape of men entangled in combat between the oak copses that flanked the Kingsroad.
