THE CARDINAL CONCLAVE OF PONTIAN IV

His Holiness, High Pontiff Pontian IV has been laid to rest with his purifying cremation taking place shortly after his untimely death. In the wake of the commitment of his soul to the skies, the College of Cardinals locked themselves within the Basilica of Saint Henrik within the Holy See. The Pontifical seat within the room was left empty and used as the spot to submit one's vote to.

 

In the election there were five Cardinals of the Church of the Canon present and all sat across from each other whilst the Vice-Chancellor asked questions of the two Pontifical candidates. The five were Cyrus Cardinal Albarosa, Armand Cardinal Allobrogum, Patriarch Iosif Cardinal Jorenus, Antonius Cardinal St. Caius, and Teodosio Cardinal Tyria.

 

The Vice-Chancellor Teodosio spoke a prayer to the College and the policies, hopes, wishes and plans for the future of our great Mother Church were discussed and questioned. Each Cardinal signed the Lorraine Cross and the vote commenced.

 

A palpable pause filled the room as all took their time to write down their preferred candidate, much deliberation was made but eventually they began to one by one submit their votes, on notes folded in half and sat on the empty Pontifical seat so that no tampering could take place. The Vice-Chancellor rose once more and counted the votes. He returned the slips back to the seat before announcing the results. A close election of three votes to two. The votes were counted by Cyrus Cardinal Albarosa again and the result the same. Thus the Church of the Canon had its next Pontiff-Elect.

Truly ein blessed time." He then began praying heavily within the coming days, hoping that the new Head of Faith would choose a wise Pontifical name. Perhaps one inspired by recent predecessors...

ALEKSANDR OTTO THE GRAND PRINCE OF KUSORAEV THINKS THIS WOULD BE AN INCREDIBLY INTELLIGENT MOVE FOR THE NEWLY ELECTED PONTIFF TO DO. IN FACT, THE PRINCE BIRDS THIS NEW "HAENSER PONTIFF", SUGGESTING THE VERY IDEA.
