The Sanguiri - Unseen Remnants of Eras Bygone...

Introducing the "Sanguiri," a race of vampires that dwells within the vast realm of Lord of the Craft, a high-fantasy Minecraft server dedicated to serious role-playing. These enigmatic beings, once known as the Siliti, have undergone a transformation in their lore to present a revised and expanded understanding of their existence:

In the simplest terms, the Sanguiri are vampiric parasites, haunting echoes of their once-descendant selves. They emerged as a result of the profound corruption of ancient blood magic, their essence forever entwined with the darkest aspects of their lineage. Originating from the primal striga of the Unseen, these beings embody the dual nature of Malghourn's intricate design—a mixture of grace and cruelty.

Unlike any other creatures fashioned from flesh, the Sanguiri find themselves bereft of the ability to produce or harness their own life force. Instead, they are sustained by an ethereal and insatiable thirst that courses through their very marrow. This vampiric existence is dependent upon the vital essence found within the blood of mortals, akin to the dreaded dreadknights of bygone eras. Through intricate enchantments woven into their being through the conduit of blood, their bodies and souls are bound beyond the reach of the malleability that characterizes the Descendants. Thus, they become ageless, impervious to the shackles of sleep, and bearers of both mystical gifts and enduring curses. Their heartbeat, breath, and bodily warmth become optional functions, no longer dictated by the natural rhythms of life.

While the parasitic nature of the Sanguiri requires less maintenance than in their previous incarnation, their sustenance can no longer be derived solely from the consumption of ordinary food and drink. Over time, they gradually relinquish their mortal cravings and pleasures. Sleep, once a source of respite, becomes a futile and uncomfortable endeavor, transforming into a profound state of deep meditation rather than genuine rest. Even alternative means of rendering them unconscious—whether by forceful intervention, magical manipulation, or alchemical influence—prove ineffective, failing to grant them the relief they seek.

This unique race, meticulously curated by the Stone Serpent, is marked by deliberate flaws woven into their very essence. These weaknesses serve as subtle yet potent hooks for control and subjugation, ensuring that the Sanguiri remain bound to the will of external forces even as their immortality and power loom large.

Thus, the Sanguiri, born from the twisted wellspring of blood magic, endure as eternal creatures of darkness, forever navigating the delicate balance between their insatiable thirst for life and the pervasive vulnerabilities that define their existence.

Reproduction

When a Sanguiri, a vampiric parasite with an eternal existence, forms a union with a descendant of mortal races such as humans, orcs, dwarves, or elves, a complex and extraordinary intermingling of bloodlines occurs.

The offspring of such a union inherits a unique blend of characteristics from both lineages, embodying a convergence of the immortal nature of the Sanguiri and the mortal essence of their non-vampiric parent. These hybrid beings, known as Dhampirs, navigate a delicate balance between the darkness of their vampiric ancestry and the vibrancy of their mortal heritage.

Physically, Dhampirs display traits that reflect their dual lineage. They possess an otherworldly allure, their features often carrying an ethereal beauty reminiscent of their Sanguiri progenitor. Their skin may possess a subtle paleness, a testament to their vampiric heritage, yet they also bear the distinguishing physical traits of their mortal parent, such as the pointed ears of an elf or the sturdy build of a dwarf. Dhampirs inherit heightened senses, agility, and strength from their Sanguiri lineage, lending them a certain preternatural grace that sets them apart from pure descendants.

The nature of their existence further reflects this amalgamation. Dhampirs have an extended lifespan compared to their mortal counterparts, yet they are not truly immortal like the Sanguiri. They experience a slowed aging process, witnessing the passage of time more slowly than their non-vampiric kin but still ultimately subject to the finite nature of mortal existence. Dhampirs also possess a measure of the Sanguiri's thirst for blood, although it is typically less pronounced and can often be managed through controlled consumption.

Moreover, Dhampirs may inherit certain mystical abilities from their Sanguiri lineage, such as heightened magical aptitude, the ability to manipulate shadows, or an affinity for blood-related enchantments. These gifts, however, are often accompanied by inherent vulnerabilities and challenges, mirroring the flaws purposefully woven into the Sanguiri race by the Stone Serpent.

The presence of Dhampirs within the realm of Lord of the Craft serves as a testament to the intricate interplay between immortality and mortality, darkness and light. These hybrid beings navigate a complex identity, forged by the union of two disparate bloodlines, as they seek to find their place in a world torn between the realms of the living and the undead.

Feeding

When a Sanguiri, the vampiric parasite reliant on the life essence of mortals, fails to drink from a descendant for an extended period, severe consequences befall them.

Deprived of the vital sustenance found within the blood of mortals, the Sanguiri begins to experience a gradual deterioration of their once-immortal state. Initially, they may exhibit signs of weakened physical and mental faculties, their supernatural abilities waning in potency. The loss of their life force supply disrupts the delicate equilibrium within their bodies, leading to a decline in vitality and a growing sense of exhaustion.

As time passes without the replenishment of blood, the Sanguiri's condition deteriorates further. Their immortality wavers, and the signs of their parasitic existence become more pronounced. Their once-ageless visage becomes haggard and withered, betraying the toll of their prolonged thirst. Their strength diminishes, their senses dull, and their magical prowess falters. The loss of nourishment from descendants weighs heavily upon them, plunging them into a state of physical and spiritual decay.

Eventually, if a Sanguiri remains deprived of blood for an extended period, the consequences become dire. Their immortality unravels entirely, and they succumb to a gradual demise akin to that of mortals. Their weakened body succumbs to frailty, becoming susceptible to ailments and injuries that would have once been inconsequential. The once-mighty Sanguiri, drained of their supernatural vitality, become shadows of their former selves, slipping closer to the final embrace of death.

It is a grim fate for the Sanguiri who cannot satiate their ever-thirsting marrow, a reminder of their parasitic nature and the inescapable dependence on the lifeblood of mortals. The choice between survival and the slow decay into oblivion serves as a haunting reminder of the delicate balance that defines their existence.

Death. Final.. Death.

The Sanguiri, beings borne of vampiric parasitism, possess unique vulnerabilities and means by which they can be both temporarily and permanently dispatched.

To temporarily neutralize a Sanguiri, several methods exist. The most straightforward approach involves inflicting severe physical trauma upon their bodies. By subjecting them to grievous wounds, be it through conventional means or specialized weaponry, one can render them unconscious or incapacitated. This state of temporary death-like dormancy, induced by forceful trauma, allows for a respite from their relentless existence, albeit only for a limited duration.

However, it is crucial to note that this method requires precise execution, as Sanguiri possess heightened resilience and regenerative capabilities that make them resistant to conventional harm.

For a more magical approach, practitioners skilled in the arcane arts can employ spells specifically designed to incapacitate or temporarily eliminate Sanguiri. These magical incantations exploit their weaknesses, targeting their vulnerability to sunlight, holy energy, or other supernatural forces aligned with purity and life. By harnessing such energies, spellcasters can temporarily disrupt the Sanguiri's essence, suspending their parasitic existence and rendering them inert. This magical intervention effectively stuns or subdues them, providing a window of opportunity for further action.

However, to permanently end the existence of a Sanguiri is a far more challenging task. The Sanguiri's immortality, woven into their being through blood enchantments, renders them highly resistant to conventional methods of killing. They are impervious to the effects of aging and possess extraordinary regenerative abilities. To permanently kill a Sanguiri, one must sever their connection to the lifeblood that sustains them.

The most effective means of permanent destruction lies in exploiting their parasitic nature. If a Sanguiri is deprived of blood for a significant period, their immortality crumbles, and they succumb to the ravages of mortality. Starvation, akin to the prolonged absence of sustenance from descendants, causes their weakened bodies to wither and perish, leading to their permanent demise. However, this method requires time and patience, as the Sanguiri's resilience and resourcefulness may allow them to seek alternative sources of sustenance or employ cunning strategies to survive.

In addition, certain rare and potent artifacts or mystical rituals may hold the power to sever the Sanguiri's bond with their ethereal marrow permanently. These esoteric methods, often steeped in ancient lore and guarded secrets, grant the ability to sunder the enchantments that grant them immortality. Such artifacts or rituals may be derived from the forces of light, purity, or life, or they might harness the very essence of the vampiric curse itself.

In summary, temporarily incapacitating a Sanguiri can be achieved through forceful trauma or targeted magical intervention, exploiting their vulnerabilities. However, to permanently end their existence requires a careful manipulation of their parasitic nature or the employment of powerful artifacts or rituals capable of severing their ties to immortality.

The Edicts...

Introducing the "Crimson Edicts," a set of laws that govern the conduct of the Sanguiri, the vampiric beings bound by their parasitic nature and allegiance to their unknown lord, Malghourn. These laws, upheld as cultural norms, are believed to hold dire consequences if violated, though they do not incur out-of-character punishments. Sanguiri covens, understanding the significance of these edicts and their magical imprinting upon their minds, enforce them diligently to avoid the wrath of their lord and potential higher powers. The thought of punishment by figures like Krogak, the Bloodbane, or Mictlanti, the Veilkeeper, instills a deep dread within Sanguiri, as their fates are believed to be far worse than death itself.

Below are some laws, known as the "Crimson Edicts," which the Sanguiri are bound to follow:

  • The Covenant of Blood: Sanguiri shall not spill the blood of their own kind unless it is in defense of themselves or their coven, for their strength lies in unity and preserving the lineage of their kindred.
  • Veil of Shadows: Sanguiri must not openly reveal their true nature to mortals, for secrecy safeguards their existence and ensures the balance between the realms of the living and the undead.
  • Thirst of Moderation: Sanguiri shall not indulge their insatiable thirst recklessly, nor drain a mortal to the point of death, as such excessive consumption threatens to expose their existence and draw unwanted attention.
  • Sanctity of Covens: Sanguiri must respect the established covens and their hierarchy, for unity and order among their own kind ensure the preservation of their race and facilitate the delicate balance of power.
  • Oath of Obedience: Sanguiri shall heed the commands of their Archons and carry out their will, as the Archons are the conduits through which the unknown lord, Malghourn, manifests his desires.
  • Convergence of Shadows: Sanguiri must not interfere in the affairs of other supernatural beings unless provoked or it serves the interests of their coven or their lord, for maintaining a delicate equilibrium among different entities is crucial for the stability of the realms.

It is through adherence to these Crimson Edicts that the Sanguiri strive to navigate their existence, safeguarding their immortal secrets, and ensuring their place within the intricate web of darkness and power that defines their realm

Abiltiies

The Sanguiri, beings born of vampiric parasitism, possess a diverse array of abilities, a testament to their unique nature and the intertwining of their mortal and immortal lineage. These abilities grant them both supernatural prowess and inherent vulnerabilities, making them formidable and enigmatic creatures within their realm. Here is an in-depth exploration of their notable abilities:

Enhanced Physical Attributes: The Sanguiri possess heightened physical abilities beyond those of typical mortals. Their strength, speed, agility, and reflexes surpass the capabilities of ordinary beings, granting them an advantage in combat and physical endeavors. The strength of 2 ologs is achieved.

Regeneration: Sanguiri possess an accelerated healing factor that allows them to mend wounds at a swift pace. They can recover from injuries that would prove fatal to ordinary beings, regenerating damaged tissues and closing wounds with remarkable efficiency.

Immortality: Sanguiri do not age in the conventional sense. They cease to physically age once transformed and maintain a youthful appearance indefinitely, making them effectively immortal. However, their immortality is not absolute, as it is tied to their continued consumption of blood from descendants.

Night Vision: Sanguiri possess the ability to see clearly in darkness, their eyes adapting to low-light conditions. This nocturnal vision aids them in navigating the shadows and engaging in activities during nighttime.

Heightened Senses: Sanguiri possess acute senses, surpassing the capabilities of mortals. Their sense of hearing, smell, and sight are significantly heightened, allowing them to perceive faint sounds, detect scents over long distances, and see with greater clarity even in dim lighting.

Hypnotic Gaze: Sanguiri can employ a mesmerizing gaze, captivating mortals and, at times, even other supernatural beings. With their eyes alone, they can exert a hypnotic influence, subtly manipulating the minds of those who meet their gaze.

Manipulation of Shadows: Sanguiri hold a unique affinity for shadows. They can manipulate and bend shadows to their will, using them as both a means of concealment and as an offensive tool. This ability allows them to move swiftly and silently, evading detection and launching surprise attacks.

Blood Magic: Sanguiri possess an innate connection to blood magic, drawing upon the mystical energies within the vital life force of their prey. They can wield this power to cast spells and perform rituals related to blood manipulation, healing, and even channeling their own life force into destructive forces.

Immunity to Common Diseases: Sanguiri are resistant to most common diseases and illnesses that afflict mortals. Their heightened regenerative abilities and fortified immune system grant them immunity or significant resistance to various ailments.

Vulnerabilities: While powerful, Sanguiri are not without vulnerabilities. They are weakened by sunlight, which can burn and harm them. They also exhibit an aversion to holy artifacts or symbols and are susceptible to certain enchanted weapons specifically designed to combat their kind.

It is through the interplay of these remarkable abilities that the Sanguiri navigate their existence, their powers offering both advantages and limitations. The intricacies of their nature and the delicate balance they maintain between their immortal lineage and their ties to the mortal realm define their place within the realm of darkness and power they inhabit.

redlines

Due to the transformative and permanent nature of becoming a Sanguiri, OOC consent is required to change a character into a Sanguiri. Players blacklisted from Sanguiri should have their characters shelved for the blacklist's duration or face permanent consequences, rather than being "reverted" to their prior descendant race, which undermines the narrative of Sanguiri being a permanent and irreversible curse.

Sanguiri subject to fatal injury cannot be resurrected by conventional means or any other method not explicitly outlined in the lore of the Sanguiri. Resurrection must align with the established rituals and practices related to the Sanguiri's existence.

All rituals and rites associated with the Sanguiri, including their transformation and blood magic, must be learned and obtained through roleplay. The acquisition of these abilities should involve meaningful interactions and character development.

Sanguiri souls are intricately bound to their parasitic nature and cannot be offered or tampered with. Their bodies are locked in their vampiric state, preventing them from undergoing permanent changes, whether through magical means or other transformations. This includes their inability to become other supernatural creatures such as afflicted, azdrazi, inferis, izkuthii, golems, vargs, striga, epiphytes, or frost witches.

Similarly, the connection of Sanguiri souls to their parasitic essence restricts their ability to practice soul-involved magics, such as shade, frost witchcraft, seer, ascended, clericalism, paladinism, druidism, enaction of Yeu Rthulu, shamanism, naztherak, mysticism, necromancy, and thallassos.

Sanguiri souls being claimed by their unknown lord and attached to their parasitic essence prevents them from being raised as undead or contacted by vivification. The Sanguiri's existence is one of eternal imprisonment rather than traditional death.

The Sanguiri's unique metabolism, granting them immunity to poison, renders them unable to make use of medicines, drugs, and alchemic consumables. They cannot be medically treated, and their experience of drugs is limited to feeding upon individuals who are under the influence of such substances.

Sanguiri cannot reproduce with one another, and their means of procreation is limited to turning descendants into Sanguiri or bearing children with mortals of their own race who are susceptible to the aforementioned curse.

Sanguiri who extensively practice physically hindering magics forfeit their inherent strength, endurance, and the ability to undergo metamorphosis on a major scale.

Sanguiri are not affected by aurum, and their material bane is distinct from that of Siliti, known as boomsteel.

Usage of the term "Sanguiri" in roleplay is considered metagaming. The word is not commonly used or echoed by the Sanguiri themselves, and its usage should be avoided.

These redlines establish boundaries and limitations for Sanguiri characters, maintaining the integrity of their lore and the distinctive aspects of their vampiric existence within the roleplaying context.

purpose

The purpose of Sanguiri lore is to introduce a distinct and immersive vampire archetype that emphasizes the ritualistic nature of blood magic and embodies the essence of mystical vampirism. By diverging from the traditional portrayal of vampires as super-powered mages, the Sanguiri offer a balanced and engaging alternative that encourages interactive and roleplay-friendly experiences.

With a focus on conflicts involving Azdrazi, internal dynamics within their own community, and interactions with other factions and communities, the Sanguiri lore enables broader and more impactful storytelling opportunities. Their unique form of immortality, extending beyond mere longevity, resonates with various races and cultures on the server, fostering deeper connections and conflicts within different racial niches.

The Sanguiri lore prioritizes aesthetic and interactive abilities rather than granting outright superpowers. Their immortality can be paralleled by an elf's use of Cloud Temple monk revival, and their EXTREME strength and endurance align with the peak capabilities of their respective races. Blood magic rites are introduced as alternative means to conventional player abilities, offering creative twists and opportunities for engaging gameplay.

To maintain balance and ensure a compelling narrative, the Sanguiri lore incorporates clauses such as the "rite of rest." This serves as a softer form of a "permanent kill" clause, allowing for characters to be imprisoned, punished, or even hard-shelved as a result of in-character actions or problematic player behavior. The lore also establishes the Sanguiri tenets and various systems to discourage murderhobo roleplay and encourage conflict resolution through in-character means, promoting interactive storytelling and RP problem-solving.

As part of the world lore, the Sanguiri lore ties together loose ends from previous event lines, such as the Asulon blood mage eventline and the Anthos Black Scourge eventline, providing a comprehensive conclusion to past narrative conflicts. It also lays the foundation for future event lines, allowing for potential collaborations with ST projects centered around mystical vampires, the realms of Hazmstadt, and the ongoing schemes and machinations of their enigmatic lord, Malghourn.

In summary, the Sanguiri lore adds depth, immersion, and diverse storytelling possibilities to the server's vampire archetype. It off

No, the Sanguiri do not possess reproductive organs in the traditional sense. As beings transformed by the mystical powers of blood magic, their bodies undergo profound changes that alter their physiological makeup. The process of becoming a Sanguiri entails a transcendence beyond mortal limitations, as their existence becomes intertwined with the ethereal marrows that sustain them.

The transformation into a Sanguiri severs the ties to their mortal reproductive functions, rendering them unable to engage in procreation through conventional means. Their bodies undergo a metamorphosis that transcends the realms of mundane biology, and their focus shifts towards the consumption and manipulation of blood as a source of sustenance and power.

While they may retain the physical appearance of their former selves, the internal structures necessary for reproduction are no longer present or functional. The Sanguiri's connection to the marrows and their dependence on blood magic reshape their bodies, redirecting their life force towards the preservation of their immortality and the pursuit of mystical abilities.

Thus, the Sanguiri must rely on alternative methods for perpetuating their kind or establishing relationships with descendants. This may involve the transformation of willing individuals into Sanguiri through the intricate process of blood-sharing or seeking romantic connections with mortals who are prone to the same malformities as the Sanguiri themselves.

In essence, while the Sanguiri possess a captivating and alluring presence, their nature as mystical vampires denies them the ability to partake in traditional reproductive processes. Instead, their existence becomes entwined with the delicate balance of blood, power, and the eternal quest for sustenance and purpose in a world teeming with possibilities.
