To the sons of Horen: those of morally upright character.

It is within the nature of Horen to experiment. It is why his prodigy has expanded across the world and is contested by none. The people of Horen are creative, ingenious in many ways, they also are easily corrupted. The experiment in Petra of my forefathers was one of a Government which would function with great amounts of republican tradition. Res Publica. It is a shame then that over the years the power of the crown was heightened and that of the people, diminished. It is good to now see such powers returning but with the instability which plagues the East one might never tell which way the winds will turn.

In Oran, I am told, and have read, there was a great deal of powers invested into the peoples as well; but with the watchful eye of a Monarchical figure; an Emperor or King. This is very similar I've found to how Petra was set to be run. In the 'Free Canonist Republic' they believe there should be NO KINGS, NO NOBILITY, so what then takes the place of the aristocracy when there is no figures; one might assume money. And money ought not to define status unless its utilized for the greater good, or so I believe.

My father AUGUST built up a Margravate, a Prince in name only until he established a small legionary force and fought for the Urukhai; distinguished in battle he was commended to lead the armies of Numendil and Petra and was named 'the Sword of Owyn.' He made good with the peoples of those Canonist Kingdoms and due to our family's service in the Crusade we were granted many promises; and while I have yet to see the promises fulfilled I am hopeful.

As ward to the Pontiff FLEEPER I, I have learned much. I have seen power hungry nobles beg for titles, groveling before HIS HOLINESS. These people, some of which lived amongst my family for many years only to turn at the very sight of power, are not whom I wish to spend my years along side. I too have spent time in the taverns of the Township with drunkards, this life I do not wish to fall into. I have ventured long and hard into the Iron Grips of Tsars, into the courts of Fleeps, I have seen how much is conducted, I have seen little rewards bestowed upon peoples.

I've come to think that when someone does something for the society in which they live, or simply another- they ought be rewarded. They ought not expect such, but they ought to be. So I write here: to all the men and women of Braevos. If you wish to build a better life for yourself, one where your rights, your land, and your family will be protected from all threats; one where if you contribute you'll earn, and if you don't you'll sink. A life wherein you might find duty, honor, and strength; seek me out. Together we'll develop council, together we'll construct something that'll last.

With G-D as my Protector,

Prince Yohan I. @Coronate

Spoiler

Hello! Very excited to announce the beginning of a very large project I've been working on with a few others: building a Central European themed state.

Currently, its mostly a group of friends I've made along the way through the places I've been but I'm hoping to expand it out. The primary goal of the project is to make a place where humans can roleplay that doesn't take itself too seriously oocly but actually roleplays, as well as a place where the governmental positions actually matter. I've quite a bit of government and culture written up but want to formulate more in roleplay with others.

If you find yourself interested in Central Europe (Polish, Hungarian, some German) or just want to find a place that's generally light-hearted please send me a letter in-game. I've also been riding around a lot so you might see me or another one of us that way.

TLDR: Central Europe, Light-Hearted/Less Intense RP, Making Friendly Connections, Constitutional Systems

"For our Freedom, and Yours." It reads.
