Current King And Queen of the Gypsies are Chavi Bravol and her brother Camlo Bravol.

Lore: (Yes I did get some inspiration from the Gypsies from the Hunchback of Notre Dame)

The Gypsies first began to form when the owner of an orphanage passed away and the children were left to live on the streets. They stuck together and lived in the sewers and would pop up during the day to pickpocket the nobles and steal the fruit off of fruit stands in the market square. The nobles began to notice their coin purses a-jar or gone and thus the children began to travel from town to town to keep themselves in the dark and off the noose. They called themselves the Benthni Gypsies in memory of their caretaker.

 

The children stuck together for the longest time and grew up as a family. As they grew older the Gypsies began to save enough of their funds to purchase horses and caravans (as shown in the picture above), although some still live in the sewers. They started to learn simple carnival tricks such as juggling and how to “breath fire”. They performed on the streets for coin, dancing, playing drums, juggling, or simply begging. The people liked their acts so much that they began to called on them for festivals and entertain the citizens.

 

The Gypsy life was never as peachy as it seemed. The older teens would sneak into the nobles houses at night and steal their silverware and anything else worth taking that could fit out of a window. The older girls would expose themselves on the streets as prostitutes to help feed the younger children. Some of the teens were caught and would be either thrown into the jails or hung on the noose. Because of this the Gypsies decided to elect a queen and king, they decided their king and queen to be two of the teens, Chavi Bravol and her her twin brother Camlo Bravol. Henceforth they were named the King and Queen of thieves.

They began to attract the attention of other homeless folk and the children who lived on the streets or who were being abused by their parents as the years went by, so the Gypsies began to gain more members. They continue to stick together as one family and helping out one another when they needed it.

Characteristics of a Gypsy:

The Gypsies enjoy wearing bright colors, the women wear sashes with trinkets that jingle as they dance. They are usually tanned from being out in the sun all day. The Gypsies NEVER turn their back on their fellow Gypsies or try to steal from other homeless or poor folk. They also HATE people in power and will try to create riots when they can, but usually they are too lazy too so they don’t happen that often. Most of the Gypsies are humans. The usually won’t accept the help of outsiders unless it involves them getting some minas.

The Gypsy code: If the code is broken you are subject to be hung on the Gypsy noose, fed to the wolves, or turned in for minas if you are a wanted criminal!

(An OOC rule, you must must MUST have a Villain application if you plan to do ANY stealing or ANY sort of villain type thing! This include starting riots or conning. Prostitution is allowed or fighting if provoked.)

1. NEVER EVER betray the Gypsies, they are your family.
 

2. DO NOT steal from other homeless or poor folk.
 

3. DO NOT Murder or kill anyone for coin, we are thieves and outcasts, not the mafia.
 

4. NEVER expose the Gypsy camps or hideouts to officials, we will find you and
hang you on the Gypsy noose. If you are being chased by officials run
AWAY from the camps and try to send a bird to Chavi or Camlo for help.

5. TRY to have fun as a Gypsy! We are fun loving folk who enjoy to dance or play our drums and fiddles!

6. Before someone is to be hung on the Gypsy noose a woman or man is allowed to
ask for the person to be their wife or husband if wanted. (Usually only
happens if the crime in minimal.)
