History

Wulfric was born in the noble family of Grandaxe, with his twin brother, Delric. They were born to a mother named Elie Grandaxe, with a missing father. As they grew up, they always challenged each other, even though they always felt even, and never felt jealousy towards one another. They grew up seeing their family come back glorious after their battles, and have learnt to respect them. Delric and Wulfric looked very alike. Both had light brown hair, and light brown eyes. People often couldn’t tell the difference between them, which was fine with them. They most looked up to their uncle, Thorin Grandaxe. He gave them both practice-axes. Wulfric liked to quietly follow the legionnaires into practise, where in the corner, he would try to remember what they said, what they did. He later on ran back to the Grandaxe Hall, telling his brother what he saw everyday. “ They say ‘valour’ an’ ‘glory’ a ton” Wulfric giggled. Delric was much more serious than Wulfric ever was, but he couldn’t help but smile with him. Wulfric liked to speak with random legionnaires while they weren’t on duty, trying to find out more about the life that awaits him.

Wulfric grew up, now with a beard, the age of 90. His beard was braided, the corners of his beard attached to little golden nuggets, probably leftovers of the anvil. Wulfric, reaching an age where he was allowed to go into a battle, was smithen a sword. His very first weapon, asides from the practice-axe that he was given at a very young age. He asked his uncle Thorin to let him and Delric join the Legion, “Aye, nephew’, as a legion commander, I mus’ take you to the legion barracks.” Wulfric of course, being a bit rebellious- already been there, but for the first time, he was allowed to be in there. He patted Delric on the shoulder as they marched to the barracks. They entered, and saw a couple of legionnaires having a laugh, a few sleeping, several taking off their armor. Thorin turned around towards them, with two sacks, filled up with “Yer new Legion Grunt uniform!”

Wulfric soon realized, being part of the legion was serious work. You had to learn to sacrifice, show respect, torture enemies, which Wulfric admits- is no fun for him. But an order is an order, he must do it, or he will be dishonored. He must be disciplined. Delric had no issues with being a legionnaire. He was strict, serious, knew what he was doing really well, and Wulfric felt behind. For the first time, he felt that they are not on the same level anymore, and he felt, that he must prove himself worthy of being a Grandaxe, just like all those years ago, when he watched his family return from a battle, full of glory. Wulfric wanted to be just like them, And he must not fail. He must follow orders, except one order that he will never be able to follow. To turn to his brother as an enemy.

As he settled in into the legion with his brother, they started to attend practices, go on various quests set by their new commander, Igor Stormhammer. They have been promoted to Stoneguard, and since then, they were not treated as complete newbies. They fought battles against enemies, Wulfric- captured a Blackmount and brought him to Kal’Azgoth, where he was tortured to death for his crimes. Delric, however decided to become part of the King’s Council, and applied for a job as Yemekar’s Pick. In fact, he was the only one for the job. Delric found it hard to organise the mess that the last Yemekar’s Pick left him with. Wulfric decided he could take the responsibility of Overseer of Mining, which meant he had to hire miners and collect the quotas. Yemekar’s Workforce was now controlled by him and his brother. Wulfric felt as if he was too young for the job, and he had doubts.

Sooner or later, the twins left their jobs with Yemekar’s Workforce so they could focus on the rebellion that emerged. The rebellion didn’t last long. It was led by Duregar Thunderfist who used to be an Irongut loyalist. After the rebellion was over, Wulfric left Kal’Azgoth to live in Kastoria for a while. There he met Sebastian Lenblade who gave Wulfric a job at his farm. He was paid better than he ever was in the legion. He met a lass there, her name was Sileas. She was an intelligent mountain dwarf who liked reading books and cooking. Sileas gave birth to two sons, Terris and Thrain. Both of whom stayed in Kastoria while Wulfric had to report to legion duty.

When Wulfric returned to Kal’Azgoth, Delric was made Drill Sergeant. Igor promoted Wulfric to Ironbreaker as he returned for a mission against House Blackmount. Salvus became corrupt, led by Shields and Lion Knights, and soon the dwarves’ attention was focused on Oren itself. They have broken the blood pact. Thorin declares war on Horen IV. The first battle takes place at the Crossroads. To dishonor the knights of Oren, dwarves’ brought snowballs to attack them with at the beginning of the battle. After a very tense battle, the dwarves’ retreated. Wulfric wrote what happened in a quick tome called “The Battle of Snow”. Thorin read it and purposed Wulfric the job of High Remembrancer. He accepted the duty and started to work on organising his Scribes.
As the Legionnaires re-build Storm’s Crossing, the war quiets down. Oren doesn’t attack for a long time, as if they surrendered. Meanwhile, Delric gets promoted to Commander. Inside Oren- chaos. Men are dying, rebellions, important figures just... vanish, the new emperor is peace-loving and fears war... So they held a meeting. King Garth of Salvus swears loyalty to Urguan. Not long after, many others do as well. The whole of Anthos is under Thorin’s fingertips like never before. The highest success ever reached by the Grand Kingdom of Urguan.

Peace, even though it is wonderful for all, has turned all legionnaires hungry for war. People turn on each other, mainly the cave-dwarves against the mountain dwarves. Wulfric meets a great man called Morgrim. He feels as if Morgrim is more of a brother to him than Delric ever was. Him and Delric were no longer close, they disliked each other for silly reasons. Morgrim made Delric and Wulfric into elders of the Grandaxe clan at the age of 268, the youngest elders ever in the clan. Thorin, fearing his downfall, starts proposing ideas to the clan of having the next king be a Grandaxe like Thorik and Thorin both were. Wulfric and Delric stand up to the suggestion at the same time. Delric, stronger in battle, Wulfric, stronger in mind and diplomacy, it would hard to choose which one of them would be stronger for the position, if the chance ever came by.

One peaceful day in Kal’Azgoth, Lord Gorum storms out on the street screaming words that Wulfric thought he would never hear. “Delric’s dead” After all this time, Delric and him fought for their honor, but only recently did it out of envy and greed against each other. Now that he was dead, Wulfric felt empty, as if he had no ‘bar’ to reach, no goal to chase after. They were each other's podium. Whenever Delric had the light, Wulfric would envy him and worked harder, whenever Wulfric had the light, Delric strived for his goal higher. In the end, greed turned them into enemies, and Wulfric promised himself to never dishonor himself in such a way. But he can’t either way, since Delric was the only true brother he ever had and ever will.

Wulfric was given the proposal of potential candidate for the next Grand King. Out of honor, Wulfric said that he was interested in the position, but either way, he was still very worried for his Clan. Morgrim, was like a brother to him. He resigned Lord position and had gone missing. Morgrim was truly his friend and helped him at all times with all his duties. Wulfric believed a part of Valen continued to live inside of him. Gorum Frostbeard had passed away. Thorik, the Clan Father, had passed away heroically and was made Paragon. And right after Thorik's death, Thorin had died in the hands of a dragon. It was a hard time for Wulfric, and yet he and Dizzy Irongrinder had inherited the positions of Lord. Wulfric also took the responsibility to lead his honorable clan, and was given position of Clan Father. Wulfric, worried, had made a bad choice giving himself for candidacy and forced a reset on the vote by putting in his very first out-of-clan friend- Igor Ireheart. Igor had been dishonored- he lost position in the Legion, and so Wulfric decided to be kind to his mountain folk and give them a proper candidate.

Dizzy Irongrinder won the election for king by one vote. Wulfric was a little disappointed by the result, as he was sure that Igor would make the best candidate. Wulfric Grandaxe, the High Remembrancer, A Lord, and a Clan Father. Even though it was a time of success for Wulfric, he lacked patriotism for the new king and was soon removed from Lord. Slowly, Wulfric stopped showing up at events, stopped serving the legion. He was going through a rough time with his family responsibility, and handling the losses of his brethren. He packs his bags and leaves without much notice, abandons his responsibilities and loyalty to the new king.

Wulfric had matured in his voyage through the south seas. He had lost weight, his skin burnt and damaged from all the sea salt. He had lived on deck, slept in ports and ate breakfast at taverns for ten years. He had learnt to be independant, have confidence in himself and having his own life in his hands. He fought off all kinds of foes during the rough voyage. Pirates, Orcs, Goblins, Mages. After hearing from a local tavern in Gallmore that King Dizzy was stepping down, Wulfric decided to return to Urguan and settle in Kal'Ithrun to have a vote in the next election. When he returned, he had nothing. No titles. No name to stand for. Just plain Wulfric Comhan Grandaxe, former royalty in King Thorin's court.

The Amber Cold, 1446, Grand King Indago's coronation was held. When Wulfric arrived, he took his hood off and saw his lads again. Sure, there were only a couple or so, but they welcomed him back like he never left. Wulfric wanted to start again. With most of his family gone or dead, he had the chance to be independant.
