Kanrath 190 Share Posted August 31, 2013 I already have spider silk taken from a giant spider queen, which I have been in RP looking for someone to weave for me. I like this idea, and would simply think that wearing chainmail or plate over it would greatly restrict you, as plate already requires quite a bit of padding so any more and you would find it very hard to move, and to a lesser extent the same for chainmail. Mind you, the entire idea of double layering armor is kind of powergaming, and unless you have both chest pieces you cannot wear one piece under the other. And as for rping your chain chest cover having metal plates in specific spots you shouldn't/can't because there is no way of knowing if such is true or not in RP. Mind you, you could always rp wearing armor under your clothes to some limit, but again that requires you have the armor on hand, and hiding an entire suit of chain under clothes would be nearly impossible.
