Belonging to the people of the Highlander, Beth moved around a lot. Highlanders never seem to settle. She grew up with her family, the Rowans, in Markev. The Rowans were artists, who normally focused on religious paintings and writings. Beth differed from her family and enjoyed writing witty stories and drawing comical pictures to go with them. She didn’t dabble with religion in her work, or in general, like her relatives, but they respected her for the courage to be different. At the age of nine, her family tried to move with the migration of realm to Curon. During this process, they got lost. The harsh conditions were not kind. She remembers the move vividly. In the time they were separated, they learned about the creatures and surroundings of the region. Unwanted battles occurred often during the journey and left them bruised and scarred. A fight with the wind caused a swarm of, what seemed so harmless, sticks and foliage that ended up puncturing Beth’s right eye, the cause to her blindness. After the incident, Beth was more cautious than ever before. They lived in the wilderness for six years while also trying to relocate their community. At the end of their stay in the forest, Beth was 15. She always had an urge for adventure. But her loyalty always stopped her from turning away from the people she loved. This time, they left her. She didn’t want to leave the outskirts of Reza, she had hope that someone there could help them find their community. Her family, on the other hand, believed her choices to be naive. They argued for days on end until her parents explused her. The split of their choices caused a complete break of Beth and her family. The circumstances she faced while alone made her extremely frightened, but she was also so curious about the world around her. Beth didn’t turn back. She kept running. The troubled crafter maneuvered her way to the city of Reza. There, she found a new community of Highlanders and started a name for her own. From the age of nine of drawing doodles of trees and family members to nineteen and having absolutely no idea where her place was in the world, she was scared.
