Charles Westbrook is a self-made man, coming from humble beginnings. A military man for a father, and a maid for a mother, Charles had few skills and even fewer friends within Atlas prior to the blizzard sweeping over the lands. Carolustadt was young Charles' home - his father was a lowly Man-At-Arms in the Imperial Legion. Always admiring his father, despite his lowly rank, the young Charles swore that he would better his father, and see that his family was known for it's combat prowess. During the long journey to Arcas, the young Charles Westbrook would come across the Knight Ser Darius Ault - assisting the Knight multiple times in various encounters with bandits and Vaeyl warriors in the Yatl wastelands. Recognising the young man's capability, Ser Darius promised the young warrior that once the Order of the Red Dragon was restored to it's former glory - he would offer him a chance to serve as an Orderman. With grace, and the hope of eventually becoming a Knight of the Order, Charles Westbrook would take up this honour-bound promise proposed to him by the, now, Grand Knight.
