Born 1665, by the union of a female wood elf and a male forest dwarf. The mother disgusted with Malak left him to his father and fled. Malak’s father raised him on the outskirts of Hefrumm, only leaving their lumber home to shop and sell odd bits and bobs. Aware of the pitying stares and mud on their name, Malak’s father enlisted in The Dwarven Legion, telling Malak to stay home and continue selling whatever he could until his father came back. So Malak waited, waited and waited, selling stuff, listening to the stories of great wizards and warriors (his favorite was Hiebe Irongut) and awaiting the day his father would return, a war hero known throughout the land. That day never came to pass. You see Malak and his father had a few things in common (as most father and son should), the most notable, was that they are extremely clumsy (to almost Curse level proportions). All Malak got was a letter explaining that his father had been killed during the battle of Shadow Castle but not by an enemy but by tripping over his armour and cutting his head off with his own axe. He hadn’t even risen in the ranks yet, still a Grunt. The Oakengaurd name in ruins, Malak decided to take on himself to bring honour to his name, not by joining the army like his father however, but instead by pursuing knowledge and magic. So packing his few remaining posesions and selling his home all it was worth (apparently not alot) he began his journey.
