A Heartlander by birth, Joesph, being born in a poorer family, was a surprisingly prideful and ambitious young child. He was taught the value of faith by his father, of whom was a unsuccessful blacksmith. Later being humbled by his mother falling fatally ill, he desperately attempted to aid his mother in her time of need, while his father attempted to support their family. During this time, Joesph discovers more about the race of the Dark Elves, and, following this, to the much disappointment to his peers, greatly looks up to them, possibly as a result of their value of family. When his mother finally passed, Joesph, still being ever ambitious, left his father for a life of attempting to obtain luxury. Still mourning the death of his mother, he finds a trade in which he is relatively successful in: being a merchant. He obtains much wealth from this, however when he heard of his father falling ill with the same disease as his mother, he quickly expends most of his resources attempting to save his father’s life. These attempts are useless, however, and his father inevitably passes. Bottled up with regret, no resources, old age, and his old desire for luxury, he loses his interest in faith and goes to attempt to discover secrets to wealth once again via exploring the world. During this time, he gains an apperication for Ro´ah trees, more specifically that, despite their hardships, they never happen to lose their leaves throughout the seasons.
