“watch out-“ her brother would yell as a stampede of Ves guards flew by her, her brother pulling her out of the way just in the nick of time. “sorry I didn’t see them coming!” the young blonde would joke back, her glassy eyes unfocused. “how can you joke Athena? You could’ve gotten trampled over!” Agustus would scold his younger sister, causing the younger girl’s smile to fade. “sorry Auggie..” she would respond quietly, her gaze shifting downward- though she saw nothing. Her brother would give an exasperated sigh, “it’s okay- just stick close to me, alright?” he would say, taking ahold of her sister’s hand- leading her into the golden city of Ves.
As a young girl, Athena had somewhat of a harsh life- as her parents were neglectful, often taking long trips away fro the children and leaving them both to fend for themselves. Through this tough, she developed a close bond with her older brother, Augustus. He took his younger sister under his wing, showing her ways to deal with her blindness and giving her the kindness and love she never got from their parents. Her childhood, and her being a true heartlander, would help her grow into a fiery woman- ambitious and not afraid to speak her mind.
