I..can’t recall much. My father left my mother after I was born, for she had given birth to a girl instead of a boy. My mother never gave a care to what I did. She had enough of me at the age of seven and I was abandoned at my “grandparents’ house”. I grew up as a highlander with them. My grandmother taught me about plants that grew nearby like glowberries and gislocinovi, while my grandfather told stories of far away lands like Atlas. They grew crops behind the house which I tended daily. I often explored in the forest surrounding the home. My grandmother passed of old age days after my seventeenth birthday, and my grandfather ended his life shortly after with a blade at night. A dug a shallow hole and laid them side by side, saying my last words with tears before covering them with hay. I collected my belongings and other items I may need and headed out on a journey to Reza in hopes to find work. I stepped out of the house, leaving behind memories, and walked away with a map in hand.
