Rania was born in the Silver State of Haelun'or to a high elven mother and father. Her mother and father were in a loving and happy relationship leading to Rania’s birth. Her father was an intelligent, well accomplished alchemist and mage. However, the mother’s health became complicated soon after Rania’s birth and she fell dreadfully ill.
Torn from his relationship with his wife due to the illness, he blamed Rania. He took this as an excuse to conduct rough experimentation on his own daughter. Her father was not only rough in the experimentation room but was an unpleasant father to Rania. He was strict, manipulative, and physically and emotionally abusive. He claimed that all of the ill-doings to her were to save her mother. She eventually believed she had to hurt in order for her mother to be saved. However, to avoid suspension, he would manipulate her memory to create a reality of her own in which her father honorably did conduct experimentations for the sake of her mother’s heath but didn't involve her being used. This occupied her childhood and the cycle of experiments, abuse, and manipulating continued up until she was around 30 years of age.
One day, left unattended, Rania was daring and curious about her father’s work, she knew she would get punished if her father was to see but played with his potions despite that. She wanted to find a way to bring her mother back as well. When she heard her father burst through the door, she panicked. She hid under the table and was successful. She got out undetected and unnoticed. However, due to her ignorance there was an accident. He didn’t know what he was mixing and there was an explosion. Rania was lucky to not have been the one being experimented on that day. His death was recorded as an accident during experimentation.
Rania was taken in by another loving high eleven family. She was in a happier and healthier household, she was loved for the first time. However, during the attack of the September Prince her adopted parents were destroyed along with the rest of Okarn’thillin. She was the sole survivor of her adoptive family. She was alone and was reaching the age of maturity. Furthermore, her body was filled with scars with no memory of where they came from. She has recurring nightmares that fill her head with the truth of her father. However, these truths confuse what she perceives.
