  1. It all began when Jyn’s father, Leer, and his mother, Jeann, fell deeply in love. Leer was a poor carpenter that could barely survive, while Jeann was a middle class Yultharan maid. They dated each other for four and a half years before getting married. The two had three children, two girls and one boy. Both Sierre and Teresa were older than Jyn, as he was 6 years younger than Teresa and 8 years younger than Sierre. Once Jyn was old enough, five years old to be exact, he began attempting to play games with his sisters, although they always excluded him because he was “too young” or just because they were playing “girl games”. Eventually, Jyn gave up and started doing whatever he wanted on his own.The family lived on a rice farm, because they were direct descendants of Easterners and lived in Sutica, Atlas. He explored the area around his house, they lived right next to a huge forest, and he would teach himself agility, fitness, and fighting strategies. Jyn’s parents were usually at home but rarely interacted with Jyn, only his sisters. For a few years, Jyn believed his parents hated him, that was, until his mother died to an uncommon disease. There wasn’t even any warning, she was sick one day, and dead a few hours later. She had left a pair of sliver gloves for Jyn that would protect him in all of his endeavors. They fit perfectly but he expected they wouldn’t fit for long, since he was fourteen at the time and still growing rapidly. After a long time, it was believed that someone placed a hungry hair leech on Jeann to kill her. A week after Jeann’s death, 84% of the family’s money was stolen. Leer was now much more active with Jyn and taught him how to fight with a sword and shield. Jyn was given the sword and shield he practiced with. This all seemed confusing as to why Jyn needed these to fight until a month after Jyn’s fifteenth birthday. Part of their home collapsed right where Jyn was standing, but luckily, his father managed to push him out of the way just in time. A beam of wood plunged through Leer’s heart, killing him. Both of Jyn’s sisters rushed over to Jyn trying to move him away from the attack. Jyn hadn’t even heard the shouting and screaming outside of murder. Jyn was traumatized and couldn’t look away from his father’s corpse. He thought it should have been himself that died. His father didn’t need to move him. Teresa somehow picked Jyn up and dragged him outside. When Jyn snapped back to reality he heard Sierre screaming and saw her being stabbed through the stomach by a goblin. At this point Jyn was furious, he tackled the goblin, who had left the sword lodged in Sierre’s stomach. Jyn grabbed a nearby rock and beat the goblin to death. Now, Jyn knew what he must do. He ran back inside the house and grabbed his sword and shield. Jyn also found a red cape that his father wore outside and put it on. Back outside, Jyn killed dozens of goblins, beheading some, cutting others wide open. Over half of the town had been murdered and Sierre was barely alive. Teresa carried her to an alcove in a cliff nearby. Fires burned throughout the village but Jyn had successfully run off all of the goblins. But he was angrier than ever before. He would avenge his father by killing every single goblin in existence. Jyn did not return to his sisters, instead he left the village and wasn’t heard from for a year. In a new town, he had met what he believed to be his soulmate, she had become his girlfriend just a few days before but he loved her. Apparently, she did not love him. One night, they were eating steak together when she suddenly drove her knife through his left hand, which was unprotected. The knife was also stuck halfway through the wooden table. Jyn attempted to pull the knife out to no avail. His girlfriend held another knife to his throat. Due to his training with his father he disarmed her and threw her across the table. He was quickly able to maneuver his hand off of the knife but cut his palm. Jyn knew that his left hand would be useless in this fight because of the gaping hole in it. He and his girlfriend threw punches and rammed each other into walls and cabinets. For a while, Jyn was losing, his nose bleeding, a chipped tooth, and a black eye. The attacker slipped on a shard of glass and Jyn caught her by the throat, completely strangling her. He dragged her to a window and hurled her out of it, right after stabbing her in the shoulder with. She fell about forty feet and landed on her head, probably snapping her neck. Jyn tended to his wounds and left the building taking his gloves and his cape, which he rarely takes of now. Even though he swore to not trust anyone again, he desperately wanted a soulmate. But he couldn’t risk another incident like this, he was lucky she didn’t stab him in the throat right away. Jyn practiced fighting until he was 19, and that is where this story begins.
