Cynewyn was born into a happy family of farmers in the Principality of Ves, the youngest of seven rambunctious brothers and sisters. Her oldest brother, Herewulf, was her favorite—it was his job to take the wheat into Kaedrin for market, and he’d always return with a good story to tell her. Other stories she got from books, teaching herself to read. When her nose wasn’t in a book, it was in the garden, where she demonstrated her talent for growing flowers, though she still has bad memories of that time she tried shadeleaf. And her mother taught her cooking—she was the only one of her siblings who mastered her famous pumpkin pie.
When Cynewyn was fourteen, Herewulf left home to become an adventurer, and Cynewyn took over his duties. In town, she spent half her time in the tavern, where Grimnir, the elderly barkeep, taught her how to brew ale. By her eighteenth birthday, she spent as much time in town as at home, so she decided to move out. Since then, she’s done her bit of wandering, but has finally decided to settle down. Kaedrin is close to home and seems as good a place as any...she plans to open a tavern there.
