Aldran grew up in Brandybrook, and lived along the river, but was always curiously scared of water. He was always told that the river claimed his father’s life, and he was deathly scared of meeting the same fate. His father was a sailor who drowned during a rough ocean cruise when Aldran was very young. When Aldran was a boy, he often visited the nearby city of Aegrothond, but never much liked the big city living. He grew a distinct familiarity with the elves, but was always weary of them, as he was with any who were too much different from him. As he grew up, he enjoyed the pleasantries of halfling life; with the laid back attitude of living among friends. He grew up with the doors always unlocked, and often drank deep into the night as a young adult. As Aldran grew into adulthood, his mother, Eliza, found a new lover, the potter, Akmon. The two decided they were in love when Aldran was 35 years old, and a year later, got married and almost immediately afterward, Eliza was pregnant, and the two started to spend all their time together. Aldran was left with most of his mother’s old responsibility, and he used his knowledge to keep the inn left to the family by a dear friend. When he was 37, Adran’s mother died from a terrible sickness, and his infant brother, Andris, passed with her. Adran’s stepfather, Akmon, left with his mother, running off the night before her funeral. Aldran’s feelings turned toward an unending feeling of sadness for quite some time, as he he became the sole inheritor of his parents’ livelihood. As his friends and family gave him their deepest condolences, Aldran finally snapped. He followed in his stepfather’s wake, and left his home town in the middle of the night. Ever since, he has been roaming and trying to find consolation and closure in his mother’s death and stepfather’s abandonment. He hopes to one day open another inn and lad a peaceful, quiet life.
