Adewyn grew up in The Free State of Sutica. She lived the majority of her life watching her father set sail on one of the merchant ships that continually poured out of the harbor. Adewyn had little friends, she spent too much time dreaming according to her father. Adewyn dreamed of a life without limits, without minimal expectations. She wanted something with excitement and a thrill to it. During her teen years, when she was expected to tone down her rebellious nature, it only worsened and this time she had a friend to tag -along with her. Alistair Rutherford was as rebellious as Adewyn. They accented each other’s need for adventure making them untameable spirits that sought something more than the Island-life. They wanted to climb mountains, explore caves, touch the sky, be more than they were. For weeks, they made plans together. But, they never actually saw one through. It was hard to break away from the mundane life and actually put your energy into changing it. Alistair became a trader. He was assigned to the ship The Nautilus, the vessel his father served on. It was family tradition for the children to follow in the footsteps of the parents. Adewyn half expected that she would grow up to be a trader right next to Ali, but something happened. Around her 18th birthday, Adewyn took the initiative she needed to be more than her boring life. She never wanted to be a trader, not really. It was what had been expected of her and she knew she had to break those expectations. Adewyn wanted to be an adventurer. But, to her dismay, that meant leaving home in search of such adventure. She prepared herself. Kissed her father, Alistair and the world she knew goodbye before strapping on what little belongings she had and made her way to Curon.
