Raiu is a heartlander originally growing up in strictly Canon household where he was raised by his father (Haiun) and mother (Raiuna, where his name originated), he had three elder brothers (Keanu, Revru and Haiun JR) of which all trained alongside Raiu, the four brothers through the ages from 7 to 15 were trained in many forms of combat ranging from a wide variety of hand to hand combats and swordsmanship, during this time each of his brothers moved on from the family and joined various forms of military His eldest brother Haiun JR dying a few days before his 16th birthday. After his brothers left training alone meant the other caucasian teenagers abused Raiu, creating an anger inside of him, forcing himself to get stronger, going through immense amounts of suffering, torturing his body physically and mentally. He would no longer talk to his family and the few friends he had left abandoned him. He shut himself off, only talking during training for the next two years, training specifically in nunchucks or nunchaku’s. He then got called to help in the golden rebellion, however his father volunteered himself to go, frightened that Raiu wouldn’t be able to fight alongside other men, to defend the empire. Raiu was then tasked to continue training until his father died at the age of 57 in the golden rebellion. Raiu then was requested to look after his mother through the plagues that began to sweep across the worlds, his mother died a year later at the age of 51. Raiu was no longer in contact with his brothers and his mental state began to suffer further creating major mental issues and now hasn’t developed any deep relationships with people. He sees himself as a failure to his family unable to defend and save them from dying. He began to blame himself as he was called to fight in the first world war of anthos where he bailed and ran during battle, jumping into a frozen lake was the only way he knew they wouldn’t follow him where he remained for a few years till an unknown female found him, and managed to unfreeze the human male and heal him enough to continue his life from the age of 36.
