Aspen was born a highlander on Malin’s Welcome of 1747, child to Sigrid and Verst Ragnhild in the Norland village of Vi Stige. The girl was the second born child of her parents; having an older brother by the name of Victor who was eighteen years her senior. Victor was killed during the Rubern War before Aspen was even born; the pair had never met but as she grew older he would become a role model for her. She looked up to her big brother who had died in battle, the most noble way to have your light fade out. Having grown up nearby Morsgard, the Ragnhild family was very religious and would attend all masses; Verst having almost been inducted into the brotherhood. Aspen’s childhood wasn’t a light hearted one, when she was 10 years old she became her mother's apprentice and had to help sow together cloths in order to make clothes for both the family and others. Though as Annavei grew older she didn’t seem to mind this; she enjoyed the creativity behind creating outfits and dreamed that one day she would dress both the King and Queen of Norland. While Aspen and her mother worked the domestic aspect of their family, Verst was a hunter and fisher and it was with his help that they survived for so long. Verst had also served in the Rubern War, and was present for Gordic’s rise to power. He often blames him, Gordic, for the war that caused his only son’s demise.
When Aspen turned 20 she left her home village of Vi Stige and decided to go out and travel; currently she is wandering around the high realm looking for a place to live.
