Faraeh was born to Heartlanders in Helena to Vangart and Arfriueg mot Selcouth. She was the youngest child out of seven -all boys- (not to count, of course, the number of illegitimates running about due to her father’s lively ways) and was generally left to her own devices as a child, apart from her nanny that is. Her mother was flighty and tended to take off into whatever fancy took her, a luxury afforded to her by Vangart’s immense wealth that contributed to the upkeep of prestigious governess’. Faraeh was taught to read, write, sing, and dance- a proper lady’s education if one will, but, she too, had been taken by her mother’s whimsy ways. Her childhood was bright, happy, and generally unaffected by turmoil except for the occasional unrequited crush and the like. As adolescence came, so did the pressure of being the only legitimate girl child. She was seen as a way to strike deals and alliances- and thus this revealed a passionate streak that resulted in a few tantrums. She was well-loved by her distant parents, but the value of her hand was not a bargaining chip her father would relinquish for the likes of his daughter’s happiness- he was a politician at heart after all. So, she was married to a rich merchant’s son at the age of eighteen in the Church of Canon. Surprisingly, this was not terrible- he was a kind boy. However, tragedy struck when he was lost at sea on voyage abroad a few short weeks later. Widowed at nineteen, Faraeh was sent home. Seeing their daughter riddled with heartache, they allowed her to ‘spread her wings’ and ‘blossom’ in worldly things before she they afforded her the option to choose a second husband. It’s been three years and they are still waiting for her to ‘settle’.
