Tetralyna immerses herself in what it typically means to be a high elf. She carries an avid appreciation of literature and the arts, becoming well versed in the wise sayings of philosophers and teachers; her artistic mastery is known throughout her community as surpassing even the standards of the High Elves. She is typically a kind individual, whose openminded and pragmatic nature typically allows her to make many allies – however, she carries the deep-rooted arrogance of her kin and, as with all people, a touch of dogma and taboo when referring to certain topics or themes. In her case, this theme would be of change...more particularly, the change of the society around her, which affects the course of her life. As she deems her current state as the ideal epitome of livelihood, change is not happy tolerated as it will only imply that such change is for the worse. Tetralyna would always consider her options and perhaps one day, such options would allow her to embrace the eventual change of her society. She is typically friendly to all the three variants of elves(and their subgroups) but sceptical of humans and treats them like animals or aliens of sorts.
She was born in the silver cities of the high elves, the daughter of Arenelyya and Amrithon Laerinlora. From a young age she grew infatuated with the glamorous, ideal society she grew up in, and the loving embrace of her parents convinced her wholly that her people, and by extension the High Elven ideologies, were indeed ordained to live in such eternal bliss; she adopted the idea of the “utopia” that she would come to surround her life with.
As she grew up she maintained this belief, also inspired by the wisdom of her forebears – most of all the philosophers of the Mali’aheral – and followed in their footsteps, hoping to reach the level of enlightenment they so elatedly professed to possess. She picked up on the arts and began learning how to play a newfangled instrument(the violin) from a tutor, Madaral. She was naturally talented in the usage of such an instrument and in a couple of years’ time rose to become a highly skilled player. Strangely enough, however, she rarely performed – her generally shy nature deterred her.
At around 45 years of age, Tetralyna first encountered texts of the outside world. Gaining an increasing interest in what lay without the realm of the Mali’aheral, Tetralyna began to search for more tomes of similar description and themes – years later, the search had brought her to the principality of Aegrothond, quite some leagues away. Bidding farewell to her parents and preparing for the journey, she bought passage on the latest caravan to Aegrothond.
