  1. [!]

The very reflection of The Brutal Baron himself, Distrugebot PRIME finished it's recanting of the heinous message and stepped aside to reveal the convergence of the Baron's Flock.

The whir of machinery drew silent as every faux-eye was laid upon the one true

    DISTRUGERE,

minds intent on enacting his will.

Though as words came to a close, PRIME called out among the IRON LEGION

"May heel crush snow until the blasphemer is found."

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

While Machine Spirits may bear a descendant soul, automata crafted of Animii are bound by no such thing. The faux-sentience of the automaton is born through a robotic body fit with alchemical blood/reagents and the manufacture of a gear heart. In the event this body expires through combative means or any other, this sentience will remain transfixed upon the gear heart unless destroyed. This is to say that if the gear heart is fully destroyed, the automaton will be subject to an irreversible PK clause. If not destroyed, however, the gear heart may be scavenged and a husk built to house it, once more restoring it (hopefully) to its former ability.

Regarding physiology, aniimatic automata bear likeness to their descendant counterparts, but needn’t follow them strictly. A skeleton is central to their frame, contrived of artificial material that may provide structure to the being’s movement. Immediately outside of this is the most paramount piece of their concise design - the gear heart. The gear heart is further fitted with tubing akin to arteries that will pump alchemical lifeblood throughout the faux-lively form of the automaton, and plating is fitted to protect such. Both machine spirits and automatons have a series of vessels stored within which allow the processing of sensory disturbances, such as visual, auditory, and touch-based stimuli. Beings larger than uruks require stronger basal frames which prevent them from running at any meaningful speeds, limited only to a walking pace.

Overclocking is an expensive yet effective ability maintained by automata and machine spirits alike, where they may force their gear-heart to pump faster and provide more ability to their bodies at the cost of excessive exhaustion. As alchemical lifeblood is pulsed through their body at increased rates, their strength and speed may increase by comparison to their base abilities, varying by size. Overclocking only lasts for a short amount of time, however, and can damage or even kill the user of the ability if used haphazardly. Due to this, machine spirits and automata are brought to a rest in post of their use, where their abilities are greatly reduced even from the standard.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

As a result of its creator’s will for efficiency, Polemistis lies at the pinnacle of size versus maneuverability, comparable only to the mighty Uruk. This sentinel bears all four limbs as a descendant might, along with an optical center where eyes would otherwise be, denoted by a soft blue glow.

  4. From within one of his many homes, the graceful Lorien Len'thilln unfurled his letter. A paperweight and dagger placed on either end of the scroll kept it open, that his eyes may search it's contents in the dim candlelight. A dolorous ringing emanated from him as the note's content was divulged, and he uttered:

    ----------------

"Naught but tutelage did I grant her. The contempt was always her own reflection."

    -------------

With the gentle touch of his finger and a flash of energy-turned-flame, the note was thusly incinerated and gone from the world.

    How germane...

If you surrender, you may be disfigured/cursed in a way that you can't really play the character as you used to anymore.

I can see why this is an issue, and it brings it once more to the attacker side of reaction. In the event of an individual being willing to continue the story, there should be a certain recognition by the attacker to perhaps do the same on their end. For instance, a Silit could get a perfectly full feeding from drinking only enough blood to knock someone out/make em woozy, but could also overfeed and kill the individual (To no additional benefit). If the person is willing to contribute meaningful flaw roleplay, it should say something to the attacker OOCly that they should support the narrative building, rather than "Hurr durr if I kill them they forget everything".

If you're worried about someone knowing what/who you are, you should show that irply. Have face coverings due to paranoia, and allow that very same affliction to peek through into your non-disguised rp. Give an individual who has given you the olive branch of meaningful rp the chance to continue it.

[And to be clear, by "You" I do not mean anyone in particular, I mean it as an example.]

  6. I feel as if a good portion of this dilemma also comes in the opposition of attacks. Defending against an attack (regardless of intensity/stage of crp and exhaustion), is rarely met with a true "I'm beaten" type of thing, such as falling to the ground or being disarmed. Few people wish for this to happen, and instead remain standing and defending until one blow finally crashes through and kills the individual in one fell swoop.

[More often than not, the individuals that emote themselves being knocked out in one hit do so in bad faith and pepper the rp with rude comments oocly.]

This makes it increasingly difficult for an attacker to gauge just when to cease their onslaught in order to promote good, non-killing rp.

[I've not had this personally happen to me, but have witnessed multiple instances of it occur.]

Perhaps a good start can be approached from all parties involved, but of course that is a dream.

Honestly, yeah, remove the spell. It's just used to cast it on people during events while being totally hidden to just troll and disrupt events. "haha, i will go to this court session and make everyone's eyes bleed. My tell? oh it's breathing out through my nose a bit harder than normal."

Blood mages deserve nothing but being called pvp on if they do this

This can be said for any magic. They all have stupid ways to use them, but outright removal of the spell doesn't really change that in this case. With this same spell, you can have dramatic moments of intimidation or even well planned subterfuge and framing, among other things.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Life Evocation

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

The voidal art of Life Evocation, also dubbed “Conjuration,” is the art of summoning and manipulating faux life from the void.

In essence, one who conjures from the void utilizes the “Conjurer’s Shorthand”. This is a series of mental shortcuts to make the process of conjuring a being easier, though less detailed. Through this, any created being will look like the baseline for their species - absolutely average in every way. However, this process will automate things such as breathing, digestion, and blood flow within the creature to require minimal effort to maintain.

As these beings are false in nature and not truly living, they cannot be communed with by druids. Though this is more than enough to tip them off as unnatural, it can also be noted that conjured creatures do not perceive as their mundane counterparts do. As manifestations of mana, the spell can only see what it's controller can see, and hear what they can hear. It is to this end that a conjuration cannot relay info to a mage by extension, and must rely upon commands from the mage. Though the beings can very much still be slain as any other animal would, this nullification of senses extends to pain.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

The different sects of Life Evocation are:

Disjointed Conjuration: The summoning of disconnected parts of various organisms, given velocity once summoned from the void.

Through this, things such as summoned arms and legs can be made into projectiles.

Perennial Conjuration: The summoning of plant life through the void, capable of even replicating the effects of non-refined herbs.

For instance, while conjured Blissfoil may still have a numbing effect, it cannot be refined into symbols to fuel a potion’s creation.

Terrestrial Conjuration: The summoning of animal life through the void, including humanoids.

This means something like a human or a halfling could be conjured, but will look like the baseline for their species.

This method abides by general amounts of creatures that can be conjured based on their size, dictated as:

    Miniscule, smaller than a rat.

Small, greater than or equal to the size of a rat, smaller than a housecat.

Medium, greater than the size of a housecat, up to the size of a wolf.

Large, greater than the size of a wolf, up to the size of a bear.

    And the maximum summons are as follows (assuming tier five);

    Miniscule : Twenty

    Small : Ten

    Medium : Five

    Large : Two

Chimeric Conjuration: Tampering with life’s recipe by summoning flora or fauna altered by other species’ traits.

This can even take traits from the opposing group, such as a fish with leaves for scales.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

[Terrestrial Conjuration - 3 Emotes (More than 3 small creatures)]

[!] The sage’s connection would soon deepen, a silver-blue haze licking upward from his forearms and dying off a few inches from the skin.

Though a master at his art, the man still held his gaze upon an anatomical diagram within his tome.

[!] That which lie upon the bound page was the image of a rabbit, sketched in charcoal.

Several frames of this same creature were demonstrated upon it, varying in angle and scope - some dissected and labeled.

Though as he studied this further, the air to his right peripheral began to shift and warble as if reality itself bent at his whim.

[!] At last, the fluctuation in reality ripped open into what could only be described as a rift, and out from it hopped four brown, simple bunnies.

They did not move, for their commander did not bid them to do so within his mind, and the rift slammed shut.

The elder continued to gleam upon his skin with the corruption of void, sweat forming across his face. The keen observer could see each rabbit’s heart beating quickly.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

    [Teacher - Red]

    [Student - Blue]

[!] The Elder spoke then, a hoarse voice echoing out among the trees

“Come now, aspirant. Place your hand upon the soil and I shall teach ye how to cultivate your studies.”

[!] The student nodded, clutching a scroll of parchment tight in post of his recent studies.

He knelt, unfurling the scroll to his side and looking upon it as he laid his free hand upon the soil. It was damp, wet with recent rain.

“Begin your flow. Do you recall refining the crystal into the shape of blissfoil?” he rasped, speaking on a previous study of life’s design

[!] Slowly, licks of purple mana began to rise from that disciple’s hand, waving upward in a haze.

“I do, yes.” as this was said, his left hand - now free from the parchment - gathered a small focus crystal sculpture from his bag.

It appeared to be a crystallized replica of blissfoil with roots and all, matching the charcoal designs upon his parchment.

“Splendid. I wish for you to recreate this same feeling. Beginning at your palm, then extending to the roots and back up between your fingers.

Envision the pockets of water in the ground as vessels for your energy.”

[!] The student did as was asked, steadying his breathing to deep inhalation and exhalation.

The tufts of aura that had sprouted upon his hand soon drifted in an unseen wind toward the ground that he so grasped.

Though this did not pierce it, it signified to the onlooker that the boy’s energy flowed.

In through pockets and solidified upon itself, the lack of a crystalline vessel led the mana to render itself true, forming into thin, spindly roots before drifting up and sprawling out from the ground.

The manifestation seemed to grow in real time, unfurling upward before sprouting multiple bouncy leaves.

“Fine work - do not remove your hand from the ground, and keep your flow.

I wish for you to rub the petals against your arm, for there is a lesson to be had there.”

[!] Once more, the boy did as was asked. He brought his left hand to grasp the plant, rubbing the petals against his right.

Slowly, a feeling of numbness touched the skin, and his eyes widened some.

“I thought you said this was…fake?” with the feeling of numbness imparted, the boy’s connection was interrupted

and the plant shattered into millions of floating fibres before disappearing.

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

In the instance of a student's powergaming, I would look over what they did in detail and take accounts from both sides.

That being said, if it was a simple mistake I would show them the way to correct such, and would look into my teaching method and modify it accordingly,

along with mediating the situation between them and the other party.

If it is a larger, blatantly inexcusable instance, I would seek to notify staff accordingly.
