THE PLOWHAND’S MELEE The day shall close with a general melee, with every man fighting unarmed and unarmoured until only one remains. As the carriage rolled down the winding roads to Valdev, Nataliya Leopoldina regarded the Prince of Kusoraev in quiet contempt. Without touching on the merit of either position, it is clear to the Crown that the course of the Duma is an uncertain one. Before any reformation takes place, it is in the interest of the realm that both chambers meet to discuss their collective future. The period of the by-election has come to an end, as we at the Office of the Electoral Commissioner may finally announce the third alderman for the Peoples’ Duma. However, it should be noted that towards the end of his campaign, Mister Ryba Novikov withdrew under the premise that he had married into nobility. We at the Office of the Electoral Commissioner must first of all apologise for the time it has taken to publish the results of this election, we must however elaborate, that such time was taken as the Electoral Commissioner, Mister Schumacher-Rosberg, was incapacitated after being in a carriage accident. However, we are now prepared to publish the results of the 482 E.S. Election for the Peoples’ Duma: A total of 3600 votes were cast in the election, and we do duly thank every one of our countrymen that took part in the democratic process. However, we must find, as it was a requirement for every ballot to include three candidates, that 1400 votes are to be deemed invalid. This is 38.9% of the total votes.
