His mother died from complications when he was born. His father was mugged by bandits, then killed when he was thrown off a cliff. I was forced to watch. I didn't have many friends, but my best friend, Evan, was taken in a raid. I know he's out there, somewhere. I have a way with animals, and only take what I need. I am a heavy drinker and I hate it. My face was scarred by my father when he smacked me with a brandishing iron.

John Northspoke, a calm, compassionate, humble man. As a highlander, he has always been alone. His mother, Mrs. Northspoke, died from complications when he was born. His father, Jared Northspoke, was a heavy drinker and was abusive. He died when he slipped off a cliff when out with his son. John also received his facial scar when his father beat him with a branding iron to his face. Now, John lives alone, with his dog, Reaper.
