The Laursen family hails from Sutica, they were a quaint family who owned a small blacksmithing shop, which paid their taxes, yet was not enough to afford them a very luxurious lifestyle in the slightest. Vulcanos was born, raised, and taught here. He learned his trade, and learned it well. From a child, it was clear he was a gifted smith, working iron like it was nothing from a young age. He always longed for a grander purpose. It was one thing to smith and make weapons and armor for the roaming adventurers that would happen through Sutica, but it was an absolute dream to think about smithing weapons and armor for soldiers to use in battle against other smith's iron. He worked hard and did everything he was told, he was always a happy person. Always seen with a smile, especially when he was working iron. His parents, Hana (his mother) and Bjorn (his father), were always tough, but kind to Vulcanos. They pushed him to the absolute limit the moment he touched his hammer. From a young age, Vulcanos had the nickname "Mountain of Fire" for how quickly his temper slipped and how explosively and scary it was whenever it happened. When he wasn't working, he was studying different ways to shape and work iron and other exotic materials. He rarely ever was able to work gold, as nobles were scarce inside the shop. Vulcanos learned how to read and write, but he always found reading interesting as a concept as he could not for the life of him figure out why people would read, rather than do some good old fashioned work with their hands. It always confused him when he saw people reading out front of their cottages for what seemed to be hours, just because they could read. He never saw the appeal. The one thing he did love to read about, however, was the Kingdom of Haense, whenever there was news coming from there, he would be the first to read the decrees and letters from the kingdom. He became infatuated with the idea of opening his own shop in the kingdom, supplying weapons and armor for the people there. When he turned 24, he started preparations for a journey, to potentially move to the Kingdom permanently, and leave his family behind, wanting something more for himself. He didn't want to be seen as just a Laursen. He wanted to be seen as THE Vulcanos Laursen. He wanted to be a legendary smith, that all adventurers and soldiers knew the name of.
