Klink Twofingers is a 95 year old Goblin. At a young age he was a fierce warrior in his tribe. He has no mercy towards anyone or anything, if you were in the way, it meant death. At the age of 22, Klink was injured in a battle, which caused him to lose 2 of his 8 fingers, * not including thumbs.* His tribe then put him away, as they were ashamed that their deadly warrior, was weakened. This caused extreme anger in Klink. Without his presence in battle, his tribe slowly started to lose territory. He tried and tried to get back on the field, but always turned down. One night, Klink decided he had enough of this. He set out, while everyone was asleep to burn down the homestead. He used his flint and steel and set the place ablaze. Watching his family and friends, burn and scream in agony, caused much pleasure to Klink. He smiled on the hilltop watching the people slowly fall down one by one, like dominoes. Once the sun rose, he went through the village to execute any remaining survivors. Only two responded. His mother, Gloob, and his girlfriend, Trinka. When they asked for his help, grabbing at his pant leg. He smiled, pulled out his stone, and crushed their skulls. Klink lived alone for a while, in a cave miles and miles away from this old home. He liked this cave. It was quiet, and cold. He survived from the bugs off the wall and the occasional bat that would fly by. Overtime he ventured deeper and deeper into the cave. A sort of siren song, was illuminating to Klink, from deep within the cave. He couldn't resist. Deeper and deeper he excavated. Time seemed to lose all presence. As Klink dug to reach the beautiful calling. The cave began to devolve. The walls seemed to be decomposing and the odor of rotting flesh began to creep. The agonizing screams of the tormented and horrific shreaks of the unknown were piercing into Klinks ears. Yet, he didn't care. The beautiful siren call was all too alluring. As he continued to travel to unknown reaches into this cave, the screams were begging him to leave. To the outside world, months have gone by, but to Klink, it seemed only a few hours. He reached what seemed to be the bottom of the cave. There, at the end of the walk way, was the call he had been hearing all this time. It lead to a table, on it, the corpse of a cobra. As he approached the corpse, the noises got louder, and louder, until his hand met the skeleton of the snake. As Klink stood there, the sound of boots approaching from down the way he came, became apparent. A group of hooded figures with big beards surrounded Klink. 5 to be exact. The man at Klink front, was an old man wearing a black and green robe. He tells Klink, "You are chosen, small one, to follow to way of the cobra. It has called out, and you have answered. The prophecy is fulfilled at last, for the snake has been calling out for thousands of years, and finally, we have the new lord." The other 4 man take a knee around Klink. "Reach out your palm, green one" Klink reaches out an open palm. The old man takes out an ancient dagger and slices a crescent shape into Klinks palm. He pulls out a bag with a purple powder, and mixes it with Klinks blood. He pour the concoction onto the snakes body. The bones deteriorate into a smoke. "Inhale the presence of the almighty cobra" Klink inhales. All the members chant "ALL HAIL COBRA! ALL HAIL COBRA! ALL HAIL COBRA!" Klink is 94 years old when he leaves the cave. When the sunlight touches his skin, it is as if he was cooked in boiling oil. His green skin darkens, Warts begin to bubble all over. Years of living in a cave has caused Klinks eyes to grow 5x in size to allow more light to see in the dark. When he emerges from the depths, the sun light burns his corneas, shrinking his eyes by 98%. The sudden burn of the sun makes Klink very angry. He takes out his anger on a nearby chicken. Grabbing it by its neck and slamming his body into a tree. He bashes the chicken until all he is holding is the head and the spine. Klink goes back into the cave and waits until nightfall. When night strikes, Klink begins his journey back into the world. He sees creatues hes not seen before, pigs, and bigger pigs, and chickens. He goes over a hill and sees something out in the distance. Its nothing hes recognized. Faceless beings, large in scale, emitting a black aura. Their legs are shrouded by the many sets of hands and arms they have. Each hand has 10 fingers, extending to 15 inches long. The fingernail are dripping in an acidic liquid, burning the mountain side. They turn to face Klink, their faces are distorted. Many sets of mouths , each speaking in a different tongue. Their eyes are big and bulbous, each looking directly at Klink. The hillside is covered with this omnipresent beings. Klink fears for his life and heads back the way he came. He decided life outside of the cave was too alien, and wanted to live in his comfortable home of the Cobra. As he approaches what he remembered to be the cave entrance, nothing is there. The cave is gone. Klink begins to panic as the sun is rising, he bangs at the stone wall with his fists, breaking off one of his fingers. Whoever has sealed the cave, has cursed themselves to damnation for sealing for the tomb of the holy Cobra. After Klink finger falls off, he decides to leave his old home behind, and set forth to the find the blasphemer who has sealed the holy tomb. Klink wanders the lands at night, taking shelter in small rock formations when the sun arises. He survives by eating fungus from the lakes and rotting carcasses on his journey. He travels through many terrains, ancient and modern. He begins to hear a voice. A tiny voice he cant escape. Mocking him, laughing at him for his home being sealed by a great force. A force far greater than anything Klink can hope to achieve. Klink feels he is being hunted so he hides in a bush to watch any nearby movement. The voice continues to mock him. Klink realizes the voice, is coming from himself. His left hand to be exact. One of his fingers has taken on a life of its own. "YOU WILL FAIL AT YOUR JOURNEY" " HE WILL EXECUTE YOU" " BREGTHAR IS FAR MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU SWAMP THING! HE IS THE ONE WHO KILLED THE COBRA IN THE ANCIENT TIMES!" Klink bites off his finger and eats it. Bregthar. Thats who sealed the tomb. That is who Klink must search for. Bregthar is the one who blasphemed the almighty Cobra in Klinks mind. Klink, in a rage, practices his swordman ship with a wooden sword he forges together with the slime of snail. He weight of the sword is far greater than was he can wield, and he cuts off another finger. Klink begins to build enough strength to slice with the blade. He tests his skills on a near by pig, killing it in 15 swift blows. He learns to cook and cooks the pork. The taste is delicious, hes tasted nothing like this. Suddenly, Klink gets a vision. He is taken back to a time hes not known of. A scourge of beings sweeping the lands. Mailnor is being attacked. Klink stand idle as he watches people die. It is now a year since he has left the cave. Exploring the lands in search for the enemy of the Cobra. He still thinks sheep are omnipresent beings sent by the enemy to disembowel him. (There are no REAL supernatural elements in his lore, as you can see from his negative attributes, he has vivid distortions and believes these too be true. This is because after he left his villiage, he spent years in isolation where his mind deteriorated. His brain began to fill the gaps from what he was missing, just as us humans can fill the gaps in real life if left in isolation for too long. These distortions make Klinks view the world differently from everyone else, yet it is still bound to the history of the world. In the world real, while Klink believed he was discovering an ancient cult, and the cavern was going downhill. There was no cave in the real world, which is why when he returns, its just a cliff side wall. Instead of realizing hes hallucinating, he believes some powerful being sealed the tomb.) Hope this doesn't come across as disrespectful, just wanted to make it clear I wasnt trying to make a super powerful character, or to rewrite the lore, I just find this character interesting. Note 2: The story about his descending into the cave, I don't want to pass as "IT WAS ALL A DREAM" or "IT NEVER HAPPENED" as it was very very real to Klink. This experience is his physical and mental journey into madness. The siren call can represent his inner insanity, and as he travels deeper to the beautiful call, everything deteriorates. The sanity deteriorates. The walls crumble and smell of rotten. This is Klink journey into letting go of any normality conditioned into him from his childhood. All it takes to separate the sane, from the insane is one bad day. Klink had his day when his tribe was ashamed of him and kept him out of battle. Now it is time for Klink to fully embrace insanity. You may say that since it didnt canonically happen in the real life world, it doesn't count. Yet to Klink, it is the real life world. Just as people in real life believes different deities and have different interpretations of philosophies, this experience to Klink was very much real to him. However, he is bound to the real life rules and history of the world he lives in. Just as we all do. The travel and descent into madness is a very key element into what makes the character. Just as we humans in real life dream, and in your dream you can smell, touch, hear etc. Dreams can be thought of as a pocket universe inside our heads. Did this things happens? In this reality no, but in the dream world, it very much happened. This journey in Klinks mind was real in the reality of his thoughts. The vibrations and electric pulses that ran through his head that causes himself to enter this state, was a very real physical sensation in his head. Just as our human brains work. Our emotions are conducted by the vibrations and electricity running through our head. Are we to say these emotions and thoughts are not real? We can't touch them, and other people can not mentally experience what we ourselves experience. They may be able to relate how you feel to a previous experience within themselves, but they can't experience exactly what you may be going through. Our reality, is contained within our minds. Every sensation we experience is either a distribution of light sent to the brain to give us sight, or a pules sent through the central nervous system to our brain, to give us the sensation of what physical reality is there. There are people in real life who have different pulses sent to the brain. There are those who cant feel, or taste, or smell. There are those whos brain sends them an incorrect pules which leads them to believe they are being haunted by ghosts or being spoken to by the devil himself. Are we to say these are supernatural? Or is the supernatural just a real issue that can be diagnosed by the doctor. These people may be weird, or strange, or clinically insane, yet all that is important is that they are still in the world specific laws. Laws in which we can not control. Our realities as humans may be completely different. Your green may look like my pink. Or you may be completely color blind. Am I to say what you see or sense isnt real? After all, its just chemicals and electricity in our brains. That would be moronic to say its not real. To you, color may not exist. Someones eyes may not be well adjusted to receive light, their reality is that of a blurry world. Is it supernatural? Is this person going to rise above everyone else? In fact these people tend to receive special services for the impairment. Klinks (no longer hallucinations) are not just a thing in his character to rise above other players, or to try and gain an advantage. His electric pulses and chemicals in his brain are simply, offset as would be to a normal, healthy individual. He can still see what tree, but he may see, for example, a really large tower. Does this make the tower a reality to those who do not posses the algorithm of Klinks brain? No, its a tree. But the light being sent through Klinks eyes is being distorted through his retinal lense. His brain, with the misinformation, then decodes the message sent to it, and sends back the image of a tower. This is how the chartacter of Klink will live though out the rest of his life. He he very physical disabilities that give him a warped perspective on the world. It doesn't change the world, it doesn't allow him to over power anyone, he is simply disabled. Please watch this video. This is an inspiration behind the idea of Klink. As you can see, this man holds no real magical powers, yet he believes he changed the street sign by waving his wand at it for five minutes. In his head, he believes he is all powerful, but in reality he is still bound to the rules of the universe. Klink Is NOT all powerful he is just crazy. The hallucinations are just as you see in this man. This man here really exists in the world we live in, fully believing his powers to be true, but all he did was wait for the timer on the sign to change and claimed it to be himself. TLDR: Klinks retina and cornea are impared due to the sun burning them which gives him an impared, distorted view of what reality is. Years in isolation made his brain have a chemical imbalance, and his central nervous system became damaged, meaning the electrical pulses sent to his brain are not that of a normal healthy individual. In the real world, we would consider him "Disabled" and not "supernatural" and would have no fear of this person ruining the laws of physics or of space time, nor would he be able to rewrite history.
