Elide Eirian Arcane was born during a trial time. In the midst of his family venturing for a new home, Elide was born on a small wooden ship. The Arcane family is a long line whom lived within the town of Ildon. They lived happily and safe until they were suddenly in the middle of wars and battles they didn’t wish to partake in. When the Undead scourge attacked, they fled. They sailed upon quant ships and fled as far away as they could, too cowardly to stand and fight.
Upon the boat, there were few. Most members of the ship passed away from starvation or sickness. But it made for a childhood of growing up too quick and rationing between the members of the ship. Elide's birth mother, Carmae Arcane, is a bright, knowledgeable woman who speaks for herself. She is a very independent woman who would do anything for her husband and her son. When Elide was born, Carmae made sure that he depended on her and would stick by her side at all times so nothing would happen to him. Carmae was the one who taught Elide all the information he knows now. While he doesn't know much, he knows little information facts that he loves to share. Carmae as well trained Elide with simple defense mechanisms like battling with swords and hand-on-hand combat. However, Elide's father, Osborin Arcane, was a different story. While he is strong man who protected his family, he is strict, rule-bound, and thinks for the future. He believes that staying at sea was the best option, even though they were running out of resources.
One day, Elide and his father got into a heart-breaking fight. Osborin began to complain about their rations, and the fact that Elide was born caused their rations to slim down many times over. Carmae attempted to get in the way of this, but it only made things worse. Elide made a decision for himself that took almost a year for him to muster up the courage to leave his family for a new life. Not only did he wish to begin anew, he wanted to learn more of the past, of other cultures and being that lived amongst this world. He was all too curious of what truly happened to his ancestors, how they were unable to defeat what they had coming. By the passing time of the next few months, he gathered materials left floating by in the ocean to build himself an incredibly small raft for himself. he took a small bag of materials to leave with him before heading out. He looked back to his mother and father for the last time, unsure if he made the right decision. But it was already too late because Osborin had already changed the sail to venture off into the distance. The only thing that was left for Elide to remember his family was a small bowie knife that he had been given to by his father. This bowie knife was engraved with their last name, Arcane. This was the only weapon given for his adventure, even though Elide was not brave enough to fight another being.
That time on the ocean was a large struggle for Elide. He grew lonely, his sanity grew thin, and his rations were only getting smaller. Most nights he couldn't manage to sleep, frightened by the idea of being eaten or even flipped over by a wave. At this time, he would lay on his back on the raft and stare up into the night sky. He looked at the stars all night, trying to figure out where he went wrong and what he was going to do. This was when he began to hear the voices of the night sky. At first, he thought that insanity had hit him and he was hearing things. However, he began to listen deeply to these voices, believing that maybe, just maybe they would help him find a way or direction to land. It took a long while before they truly spoke to him and began to lead him in the right direction. His determination began to increase and he began to listen to these stars are divine beings. Beings that were higher and were able to help him in the present and hopefully the future.
After a long year, Elide managed to make it to land. He wasn't sure where he was, or if he was in dangerous territory, but he knew that this was a new beginning for him. He couldn't help but cry when he first touched land. He wasn't quite sure what he was expecting, but this... this was so much more than what he imagined. Elide, after a few hours of simply laying in the sand, he began venturing by foot to find a new home. He has been between towns, trying to figure out a place to call home. He soon found information of the Holy Orenian Empire. He learned that the realm was accepting and diverse. He hoped for a place to fit in
