Hejaz

Hejaz Çelebi was born in Oren to a father (Alâaddin) of Özenler decent and a mother (Emilia) of Orenian descent. At a young age, Emilia passed away to natural causes. Alâaddin was a businessman who was apart of the rare condition among the recently united Özenler people to leave their native land and start anew. Alâaddin was a skilled artisan carpet maker and tailor, who had a secret distaste for Orenian politics. As an outsider, Alâaddin was unfamiliar with the absolutism of Orenian politics and would often rant about how he feels like he is unwelcome, as such figurative and literal walls would portray that. Some would later report him. As Alâaddin took a 5-year business trip with his son Hejaz, he returned to find that his shop was confiscated after reports about Alâaddin were answered by authorities. Alâaddin left Oren with his back turned to the empire for the very last time with his son and savings. For ten years the two traveled to cities that seemed promising and bustling with trade, but were often chased out due to cultural persecution, which would later form Hejaz's progressive opinions. As Alâaddin would often mutter, "all men are created with a mind of steel, but all are vulnerable to the rust of an unworthy crown." Along their travels, Alâaddin would often wholesale books from a wide spectrum. Hejaz would read most books he could get his hands on, giving him an adaptable learner trait. Hejaz would write his experiences on discarded parchment. Due to his ailing health, Alâaddin and Hejaz parted ways. Alâaddin would pass away shortly after, donating all of his assets back to the sparse Özenler people. For a while, Hejaz would wander to quench his curiosity, with an aim to finally settle.
