Gaden was raised in a small village near Sutica to a family of poor farmers. He was a raised by loving parents but they struggled to provide for him and his younger brother. At the age of 13 his father required the help of a mercenary to help him out of a difficult situation. Unable to pay for his services, Gaden was given in lieu of payment for the mercenary's help, to serve as his helper, and also to train under him in his profession. Gaden served with the mercenary a little under half of his life to this point, being trained in combat, with sword and bow. about 2 years ago, however, his mentor was killed by a band of orcs while on a contract protecting a local town.
