Anastasia was born and raised with her family in Ebonwood. While growing up, instead of making friends, she decided to turn towards books for comfort, due to her fear of disappointment, because she can't disappoint books. Her love for books made it so that when she grew up she wanted to be a librarian and own her own book store one day. Her parents had raised her to be firm in her beliefs, thus making her stubborn. Yet, after King Frederick I. disbanded the Empire and replaced it with the Kingdom of Oren, the racism against Elves grew - in one occasion, her mother and father were captured and presumably tortured by the Galbraith, and are now presumed dead. The Galbraith is an incredibly anti-elven family who enjoy killing elves. This was an instance that made her feel upset. Anastasia, being an only child, was now alone in the world. When her home Ebonwood was disbanded for everybody's safety, and Monarch Lenora said that Vortice would take on refugees, she felt safe among the people there, and decided to stay there.
