His red hair served as a metaphor for the animosity he had to deal with in the society he was born into. He was created on the streets of Haense, and after running away from the city, he sought safety among the halflings. He lived out one brief period of great affluence in Honeyhill. His Halfling adoptive family was tragically murdered and mercilessly cannibalized, shattering the peace. He grew to feel a sense of protectiveness for individuals who were close to him, which would play a significant role in his life going forward. He became interested in joining the Brotherhood of Saint Karl as a result of this. As he turned to face King Karl III. He runs into a band of Balian Bandits while traveling through the hot desert, and his treasured childhood mount meets an untimely end when they give him a clean shot to the bloated stomach. The youngster was abandoned in the stifling heat and void of the desert landscape. On the occasion of his 15th birthday, he meets Ron, an alchemist who claims to be an expert in the field. He was shocked to learn that Ron was just the person who had murdered his supposed Halfling kin many years earlier. Ron wasn't killed, so instead of being robbed and left naked on the streets, he was strung up. This sparked his thirst for blood and made him into the ferocious warrior he would eventually become.
